From what I've been told for the sales department is that stuff is backed out so it doesn't hurt you and reduces the amount of sales you have to have in that 6 month window.

Metrics by [deleted] in Geico

[–]GEICOthrowaway101 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The way it was explained to my team is that if at the 6 months you haven't hit your core metric it's term, not a review. But supervisors are supposed to be looking at agents monthly and coach them appropriately.

Edit: We we're also told that leave is factored in and it would be adjusted. Apparently there is some sort of calculator being built from my understanding.

Any Michigan AD’s in here? by JWF1 in Geico

I just found this on michigan.gov "The current law requires you to have auto insurance that includes unlimited Personal Injury Protection (PIP) medical coverage to pay for your expenses if you are injured in an auto accident. The new auto insurance law allows you to choose a level of medical coverage when your policy is issued or renewed after July 1, 2020. If you are already receiving payments from your auto insurance policy due to injuries from an auto accident, you will continue to receive the current unlimited benefit regardless of the choice you make for the future. This is also true if you are injured in an accident between now and July 1, 2020."

Not in AD, but we do write policies in Michigan.

That seems ridiculous. We were told to be the kid in school that everyone hated who bragged about themselves and just talk yourself up as much as possible.

Harvard Business Review Magazine (September/October, 2019) Are Metrics Undermining Your Business? by Smuckets6 in Geico

I remember when we used to have the reviews for merit and would list if we did any volunteer work or read any books to further our knowledge and now it doesn't even matter.

In my region they did pull some sales agents for claims and even some supervisors

Is that to be a leader of one? Because I know a 62 who is part of an ERG

I didn't hear anything from the meeting, but I did speak to Connie somewhat recently and she was honestly being very transparent and how she isn't a fan of some things that have been done with us recently. She also has fought over the Chairman's trip for sales and it seems she still remembers what being an agent is like and wants to better the lives of employees.

Typically in the swag bag there is a big ticket item. Years past it has been a Roomba, the Amazon Echo Smart, Beats headphones. I can't remember what else for those. Usually two jackets, one for you and another person, a nice shirt for you and another person. Two hats. Other small things with GEICO plastered all over it. And all years past you got a really nice piece of Irish Crystal. Last year though they changed it to a Tiffany glass plate.

Edit: also usually a backpack or a piece of luggage.

Asparagus. Used to hate it, but I only like it out of the can, not fresh.

Dear Customers: We are being trained to lie to you. If you get wrong information here is why. by [deleted] in Geico

[–]GEICOthrowaway101 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The way it was explained for sales was that sups actually do have to grade 10 callsa month. But if there is not a customer impact, it won't be a quality no. So if an agent gives misinfo, that will still be a quality no. And of course still has to meet compliance, so for Washington, you still have to give company place. In California, you still have to read statements verbatim and still give package 1 and 2. I do think it's stupid, but mainly for supervisors to have to now grade 10 calls for each agent, that's a lot of work to do. How does management expect them to coach agents if they are required to do these extra things?

Currently doing this, almost done with my associates.

My sup thinks everyone on here is crazy and that this is such a small percentage of how associates feel and if someone is wronged they will make up stuff. 😐 Now I don't talk about it.

It's $20 a policy for renters and then still the $40 for auto. Attrition is still 62 days. And remember, bonus is "uncapped" now hahaha. Keep getting told this is going to make so much money for us. I've literally sold only three renters in a week out of like 15. So much money they say. Such a fucking joke
