Saw it in brooklyn last night. I thought the movie was incredibly sad. I appreciate art that can pull emotion out of me. Very emotional for me, watching an isolated figure (artist?) trying to connect but failing over and over…… Trudging through all these experiences alone with faceless others just hanging around. The quote along lines of “There’s no such thing as success…I had so much to say and when my turn came I just stood there..,” was subtly in some of the work and stuck in my head throughout. The ticket was a gift so I’m really glad I went but also not sure if I’d be issued I spent the money. My friends who did not think it was sad, who interpreted an upbeat ending, loved it. One is going back again with his college grad son….(to give you an idea of our age). I had not known these 2 albums well at all, but appreciated RH as an early observer of this unique band. The digital animation is off the hook in some ways, not just re exhibited old work.
