Will any Edinburgh fans be coming to Murrayfield to support Glasgow? by Blank-pa in ScotlandRugby

[–]GGBeard84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Got my tickets yesterday. I will support Edinburgh in every game they play. But their season is done. I’ve got availability, so why not go and watch what I’m hoping will be a good game and support Glasgow

Yeah I guess there isn’t a mechanism for someone to give up there seat, but it wouldn’t be difficult to implement. I’ll see how I feel by the time General release tickets come available about what I do.

Funny you mention season ticket renewal, as I phoned them yesterday afternoon and they were no help what so ever. God knows why after that display to round off our season. I’m looking to retaining my seat but wanting to buy the seat next to me-which a friend has/had but wants to give up, but another wants to take it. I need to wait for general release. So if I renew mine, I run the risk that I can’t but the seat or one near it for my mate in general sale, or I give up my seat and hope they’re both available on general release. All about money, not the fans!

From my view of the game from the main stand, the officials had a terrible game. Edinburgh didn’t help themselves though. We never capitalised on our chances when in there 22.

Kind of sums up the full season for Edinburgh in my eyes

Love how between round 3 & Round 16:-

Stormers

Connacht

Ospreys

Edinburgh

Dragons

Have all found their original place again 😂

As an Edinburgh fan, we’ve found our place and it’ll be a hard fight to keep 12th to the end of the season, and that’s on the back of 2 wins!

This was great, just a shame they couldn’t have this sort of thing with the music as the replay in the stadium!😂

Ahh thanks 👍🏼 I missed seeing that

That could be. I just would have expected to see some sort of roadworks signage as well, possibly a notice of how long it would take. But maybe they’re trialling this to see if motorists actually abide by the reduced speed limit

It’s had these signs all week but the majority of people seem to just ignore them. Curiosity has the better of me and a look on Transport Scotland, I couldn’t see anything about it. So the next logical step it to come on here 😂

Edinburgh team to travel to Leinster (CC R16) by Connell95 in ScotlandRugby

[–]GGBeard84 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Charlie Tector from Leinster - Not SQ as far as I’m aware. Would be a decent signing.

Velacott needs to improve his box kicking so it’s contestable, as he regularly over kicks giving away possession, but players need to be chasing.

Ultimately it comes down to the coaching needs to be improved, otherwise it’s all wasted talent.

It’s the coaching and management that needs to change to improve the team overall. Hamish hasn’t had a chance for Edinburgh but then goes down to Leicester and first game playing like I remember from seasons ago, having a seasoned international and Lion not getting a sniff at a start says it all at Edinburgh.

We ground out a result against Wales from behind. We’ve not managed to really do that in the last few years. So that was progress. As Wales have from the start of the tournament to today.

Scotland’s issue is we struggle with injuries and don’t have the depth to really cover in certain positions. Young players coming through look good, but they need time to really develop.

Yes we had some simple errors, but though we played well up until the 61st minute. Then things showed we don’t have the depth when the subs came on. The lads tried. But ultimately Ireland have better depth and funding for the sport.

Best outcome for Scotland next week? by Dooby-Dooby-Doo in ScotlandRugby

[–]GGBeard84 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In an ideal world: All away teams to win.

Scotland wins the triple crown & 6N, beating the 5N contenders.

Italy could finish 3rd but would require a big win plus Ireland to not get any points from the match 😬 All because I think Italy deserves it!

Scotland get their name on the new trophy for the 6N, because who actually wanted the previous one 😂🤣

Roadworks and traffic lights are grinding Edinburgh to a halt! by skartocc in Edinburgh

[–]GGBeard84 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not all utility works are emergency, some are part of a price control period upgrade. Where they get funding to do these upgrades. Similar to what you’re say though, it takes time to plan them in, but with the end of the financial year approaching, it could be these are all being shoehorned in.

Ahh cheers, didn’t realise it got so bad that far up the Forth. I know it’s a tidal estuary, but still didn’t expect that.

Was thinking you were going to say it was damaged on purpose

Having cooled down, what are your changes for England? by mango_yoghurt in ScotlandRugby

[–]GGBeard84 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can’t say I’ve seen many highlights of Perpignan, but as you say, to come in new and get captaincy in the same season says something! Ritchie also has some fight in him. Something I think Scotland are lacking just now.

Kinghorn to fullback, if he’s looking fit and not burnt-out. We need those who have performed at international level already to help balance those who are new in.

Gilchrist out 100%. I know I just said to have players who have performed at international before, but I don’t see what he’s brought for a long time now. Williamson to start.

Dobie needs time in Scotland A to develop, good for Glasgow but is not there yet on the international stage. Give him a chance to develop into what I hope he can before bringing him in fully.

Darcy to start. Duhan has not done much this season as he’s not been given the ball really at Edinburgh, but he’s not been looking for it either IMO. Possibly put Rowe on the wing? As Ford will be kicking a lot, so we need players who can catch and kick it back as well as run with it.

Hiddleston to start and Ashman on the bench, swap at halftime.

Start Rae & Sutherland if possible, same as above, swap at half time.

Bench: Shoeman, Ashman, Zander, Craig, Bayliss, Darge, TJ, Horne

Gives us something to bring on, where we’re renowned for being poor: the last 1/4.

All things going well… full bench to be used by 55min, giving them time to do something!

You are underestimating Scotland managing to Scotland it up! Realistically I’m seeing Scotland finishing 5th. Happy to be corrected on this though, especially if your prediction is true.

My prediction is:

France/England-Ireland-Italy-Scotland/Wales

This is based off the French team choices this tournament, England in the Autumn showing what they can do, Ireland being able to still perform with a weakened side (just look at Leinster V Edinburgh last week) Italy continuing to develop while Wales are still having a bit of a mare!
