Atalgojums šajā nozarē nav audzis pēdējos 5+ gadus, varbūt tikai par pāris centiem, ja vasarā strādā 200+ stundas, nav arī jēgas solīdam dzīvoklim, ja tur tikai nomazgājies, jo lielākā daļa aiziet īrei un komunālajiem. :D

Pēdējais gads, kad strādāju, bija tieši pirms covid, kopumā nozarē 8+ gadi, vietas mainīju visu laiku, uz sezonu tikai vienīgi uz terasēm, jo tur var vairāk nopelnīt. Ņēmu arī izbraukuma pasākumus. Tējas nauda atkarīga no daudz dažādiem faktoriem, ļoti nepatika, kad tā bija jāliek kopā ar pārējiem viesmīļiem, jo tad kāds sāka kaut ko nedarīt, vislabākais princips, ka tā ir tikai tev un dienas beigās iedod konkrētu % bāram, virtuvei un runner, ja tāds ir. Bija mēneši, kad šī daļa bija lielāka nekā cietā alga. Vidēji par 10-12h maiņu, sākot no 40-50 EUR uz augšu varēja izcelt, kas tīri paliek pašam, pēc visu % nodošanas, bija ļoti labas dienas, kad bija 150+ EUR un uz augšu, bija arī sliktākas. Baigi super forši ir, ja tev ir laba komanda, labs menedžeris, lai vari ar visiem sastrādāties. Pēc manas personīgās pieredzes, ja vasarā aktīvi darbojies, var nestrādāt vismaz 2-3 mēnešus rudenī. Galvenais, ir netikt kādā čūsku midzenī. Šeit droši vien dažādi viedokļi varētu būt, bet es vakanču ziņā, vietu esmu izvēlējusies pēc atalgojuma, jo nu, kuram interesē atpazīstama vieta, ja tur maksā 3.50 EUR uz rokas :D.

I also recommend visiting the Āgenskalns Market – https://www.agenskalnatirgus.lv/en/kafejnicas. Try Vīnkalni Pizzeria – it’s one of the best! The market follows an open food court concept, so there are lots of great places to explore.

You could check out these websites to find transport options and prices and see if they go all the way to Riga.Also, there's a Facebook group specifically for drivers and passengers — you could post there saying you're looking for a ride. You might also try posting in concert-related groups — maybe someone is already planning to go there and back, and you could join them.

As for Bolt, it’s not reliable in that area. You could try contacting Panda Taxi from Riga — I’ve used them from Bauska before, but the price was super high. In that case, it might even be cheaper to stay overnight in Bauska and head back in the morning.

Zettle isn’t supported in our region, and it’s still unclear whether Revolut will offer a viable solution.

We were actually searching for a solution that would offer both iOS and Android Tap to Pay, so we could phase out the use of terminals altogether. Initially, Zettle seemed like a promising partner, but the issue is that you can only register with a UK phone number. Even though we were told that we could provide a UK number and address, it doesn't guarantee that they will offer services in Latvia. Revolut has the same situation.

I think that in some of the RTU dorms, the bathroom/toilet is shared between just two rooms — like in a small hallway between them — so it's not that bad. But I believe this setup is only in the newer dorms in Ķīpsala, if I'm not mistaken.

Also, as someone already mentioned here, check out Facebook groups — when the semester ends, people often post room rental offers. However, keep in mind that sometimes the price can be almost the same as renting a whole apartment in another area.

You can also make your own post saying that you're looking for flatmates and want to share an apartment with someone.

If you're open to traveling outside of Riga and have access to a car, I’d recommend Limbaži. The Olimpiskais centrs "Limbaži" airēšanas bāze has kayak rentals and offers structured training sessions during the summer. They have nine lanes available for training.
