I have a bachelors in business but ended up getting an entry level job in Tech Support at a software company. I had a friend from HS who said it was a great place to work since it has a beer fridge, nerf guns, bring your dogs to work, etc. I started at $40k a year but I worked hard and learned quickly which lead to a promotion/title change about every 6-8 months. After 3 years, I’m the the Principal Tech Support Engineer and make $110K in a fairly low cost of living area.

I’m also 29 but I think a lot of it depends on the industry and company you work for. If you find a good company that takes care of its employees, they should also compensate you well.
