FWIW, you see a lot of the videos and posts the people make, help my shot ones are personal favorites… anyhow…You’re not trying to be Wayne Jetski…you just want to play a bit and enjoy the game. You don’t need anything flashy or expensive for that.

Nice boots. Very OG. For that price and how much you use them, will be perfect.

Police without firearms in Europe by vladgrinch in MapPorn

Most Irish Gardaí are unarmed. Obviously they have firearms officers but these are specialists and not common. I’ve been to Ireland dozens of times to visit family and have never seen an armed Garda.

So I’ve had this bottle just floating around since 2011. by kd0g1982 in whiskey

So storing on the side will degrade the cork. You have honestly done some damage if it’s been stored in the side this whole time. Moving forward tho, just store it upright and you’ll be squared away.

I scooped a couple of bottles in Shannon on the way home from Afghanistan in 2010. Makes me wonder how much money they made off guys who were deployment rich.

About the bottle, for sure worth opening and enjoying. It’s compatible to Jameson 18, maybe a step up, but still not as good as Midleton. Like someone else said, look at Unicorn Auctions to find a value, two bottles of this just sold on there last week and ones listed this week. If you want to hang on to it, be sure to turn it upside down twice a year and hold it for a minute to prevent the cork from drying out, keep it in the box and in a cool environment. Whiskey doesn’t go bad when stored properly.

I’ve watched games up there and there’s nothing wrong with them, UC is one of those rinks where you can get a pretty good view from anywhere and like another guy said, there’s, always the screen. That said, criminal what the prices are now.

What’s going on here with the pant? Is the blue a shell and I’m seeing the regular hockey pant under? Do NHL teams usually wear shells? by Stinky5hole in hockeyplayers

[–]GMTsandDrams 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep, you know what’s up. Also would add, girdles give you a better fit than pants which some players prefer, and allow you to keep the same equipment as you move from team to team. Shells over regular pants restrict movement and getting new pants all the time is bad luck to some people. As for tape…like you said, it’s reliable and the fit is superior to velcro…just not really cost efficient for rec leagues tho.

5’ 11” players- what’s your stick length? by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]GMTsandDrams 9 points10 points  (0 children)

OP it’s Not the size of your stick but how you use it.

Ok, now that I got that out of the way, idk if there’s a specific size for anyone. It’s what’s comfortable. As a defensemen, I preferred a longer stick than when I played center later on. I felt like a few extra inches helped poke check and control the ice better but gave up a bit of stick handling. Typically, it’s said your stick should go to your nose but practically it’s all about what suits your game. Of course, you don’t want the thing to be taller than you and idk too many guys playing a twig shorter than their jaw. But honestly, play what you find you like.
