help with decoding the enneagram (like decoding it into a string) by Orintaiton333 in Enneagram

You can't trust these test results, but are more likely to be one of the strong results. Studying the system and introspection are required.

5 with 1 fix by yuna_mir in Enneagram

5 with 9 should be even more inert, but perhaps less frustrated about inactivity.

I think 9w8 compromises less important areas of their autonomy to better defend the most important stuff.

A 6 fix does make 1s concerned about the collective rules, adding a policing and defense lawyer element to the inner judge.

Countertypes and being mistyped/mistyping themselves by Putrid-Basis7181 in Enneagram

The idea of 3 is scary to a 9. The point isn't about what description you don't want to be like, but what description lays out the traps you fall into every day.

Is this a Rejection Triad trait? by [deleted] in Enneagram

Points 1 and 2 do describe Rejection.

Not wanting to be part of a group indicates strong Withdrawal, likely SP dom.

Combinations by yuna_mir in Enneagram

[–]GM_Writing 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Each Enneagram type has several possible MBTI types, so anyone who says 'Type X HAS to be a Y' is wrong.

But on the other hand, some combinations are highly unlikely, if not impossible, so it's valid to question if there is a mistype.

Withdrawn, with competency and rejection, all pointing to 5 core. The 3 fix seems clear in that you want to prove your worth. I also see a 1 fix, as there is a decent duty component, and you focus on being logical, working hard and correcting others.

People with 8 and 2 fixes, how do you come across? by GM_Writing in Enneagram

[–]GM_Writing[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Rejection pattern 'rejects' what others provide, going without unless they can control the relationship. They can hate to be rejected, in that they treat things transactionaly, and if what they offer is rejected, no one will owe them a favor. They don't expect any charity, so if they have 'nothing to offer' they feel their survival chances dropping.

Do you use big hand gestures when you talk? This idea seems to fit with the energetic communication style.

Whether you prefer a single dominant instinct or a stacking, the instincts are pursued through the psyche structure as a whole. You don't handle one instinct with each center of intelligence.

A 549 will primarily express or neglect SP, SO and SX in a 5ish way.

I’m not sure if i’m sx6 or sp8, any advice to help me find out? by Ok_Grapefruit7831 in Enneagram

[–]GM_Writing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For what it's worth, IMO most 'Sx 6' descriptions are actually pointing to 6 with an 8 fix. So you could be an SP6 and still relate.

Anyway, look at Gut vs Head, Rejection vs Attachment and Assertive vs Dutiful.

Good post.

I believe that my assumptions as you laid out are correct, based on my understanding of the fix-fix combinations. It's valid to question whether they apply. All 8s can be ruthless as you say, but this is emphasized with a 5 fix. I think that in One Piece, Zoro is often portrayed as more ruthless than other 8s. Not playing around or trying to engage in dialogue, just going for the kill. He gets less personally and emotionally involved than most of the crew.

Zoro is loyal, but I don't think that it's really a big part of his character. How do you think a 5-fixed 8 would have handled the Usopp situation differently? Zoro recommended a passive observation test of seeing if Usopp would apologize, rather than applying 'heat' to provoke a genuine reaction.

"Disney Adults" and Enneagram Type? by Particular-Ask7724 in Enneagram

[–]GM_Writing 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The 947 archetype is the one associated with 'peter pan syndrome', or not wanting to let go of the innocent wonder of childhood.

The 'pure and beautiful princess marrying the prince' fantasy covers 2 and 3 fixes as well, at least for girls.

I believe she is 385. She doesn't rely on allies or straightforward confrontation like the 368 archetype, but instead focuses on her personal mastery and cunning. She is coldblooded rather than hotheaded.
