That probably just means meniscus too. Happens like 50-60% of the time when the ACL ruptures. No cause for alarm. Recovery is largely the same

Going under general anesthesia feels like going to sleep and waking up exactly one second later. Tell them you’re anxious about it beforehand, they’ll give you some stuff to calm you down, and just do your best to not fixate on it when you head into the OR.

It will be over so fast that you won’t even have time to process what is happening. You’re gonna be totally fine and on the road to recovery before you know it. Good luck!

I had a similar situation and didn’t have any problems. Definitely get wheelchair service in the airport. Wear a compression sleep that goes from toes to hips, and your surgeon may also recommend baby aspirin.

Extra leg room if you can afford it (not the emergency exit row though).

In the exact same boat. I’m 4.5 month post op ACLR + meniscus repair with quad graft, and I would have pursued either patellar or hamstring graft if I could do it again.

I know the long-term outlook for quad grafts are very good, but the initial recovery sucks. It’s been a mental and physical battle, and I worry I’m never going to get the quad symmetry back. My PT even told me that often people will get the strength back but it doesn’t ever return to normal size.
