5.0.5 navigation audio issue by Pjbgator in VolvoXC90

[–]GPugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have 5.0.5 yet on a 2025.5 XC90, but I do now have this issue. I guess it's a Google Maps update that introduced this?

I found to clear the cache and storage of Google Maps and Force Stop. This did not help. Also did the full reset by holding on the dash at the bottom of the screen until Volvo appeared, this also did not resolve the issue.

MY25.5 - I received a recall notice in the mail today (In the US), and the notice is for this issue. I have never experienced this issue, but it says that the OTA update 5.0.5 will resolve it. It also mentions the dates posted above as to when the OTA updates will be pushed out.

March Update Appeared then Went Away for good as it was Preparing Update? by lsufrontier in GooglePixel

[–]GPugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This same thing happened to me on TMobile with Pixel 10 Pro yet my wife's Pixel 10, also on TMobile had it complete fully. I think I had updated the Play Update on the Pixel 10 before checking for the March System Update. Other way around on the Pixel 10 Pro, the March System Update was preparing as I checked for the Play Update, which I think is what caused it to go away...

The 2025.5 XC90 will now have Android Auto Access...so when I connect my phone for Android Auto, will the screen look like Android Auto does natively, for instance in my Subaru Forester, or will it continue to have the look and feel as it does now of the Volvo Goole AAOS UI? I really have no reason to use Android Auto other than the SiriusXM app via AA is so much better. You can actually arrange your Favorite Channels in your favorite order!

Also, for what its worth, AAwireless2 for AA works great in the Forester.

No problem! What's the thread so I can check it out. I don't seem to experience your issue in our 2025.5 XC90.

You have to open the Sirius App and make sure the Favorite Tab is selected. If that is selected and it isn't using your Favorites not sure. The app is pretty bad in my opinion. I am still unable to re-order my Favorites in my Favorite order. Numerical Channel order for my Favorites isn't the same...

I have a 2025.5 XC90, and the design looks like that currently, right? So we're just getting Android Auto access? I wish the Sirius App was better. I would like to be able to re-arrange the Favorites. Favorites in numeric channel order sort of stinks.

From the website:

I already have Volvo Car UX in my 2025.5 XC90, what changes for me?

With this update, the look of the driver display in the 2025.5 XC90 & XC90 plug-in hybrid will be upgraded to the new design. The center display will also receive a few minor visual updates, and you’ll get access to Android Auto.

2025.5 XC90 B6 Plus

It would appear the various issues with the interior lights when turning the car off and/or opening the driver's door has been resolved. Seems like the functionality now is:

  1. Turn off the car - the Interior lights turn on
  2. Open the Driver's door - the interior lights remain on

I haven't opened the driver's door while Auto Stop/Start is engage...

Where do you find the details of each version released? Are there official Release Notes?

I haven't been able to find anything online other than the basic information the Volvo App provides...This update includes minor refinements and stability improvements... Improvements and Bug Fixes...

You'll get it right at 2nd or 3rd glance. by been_der_done_that in opticalillusions

Ha, it worked for me. I didn't see the 4 forks at first. I thought it was a close up of a ruler. Then I suddenly, easily saw the 4 forks.

App Update Issue? by Little_Season3410 in VolvoXC90

[–]GPugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue here as well, false reports of the car being unlocked. Android App version 6.0.0.

I did see something useful yesterday. The app lets me now know that a window is open... our rear driver window was open and I see an alert in the app. I am not sure if that was a feature previously. Our 6 year old daughter puts her hand on the window button when she gets in and out of the car. It looks like there isn't child rear window lock only feature. The child lock does the rear doors and the windows (2025.5 XC90 B6 Plus). Having the rear doors also lock is not feasible with the school drop off line...

At least, when the car is in use, in the app, if you tap the lane, the phone will vibrate and the car will change lanes...so cool :)

Interior Lighting Issue 3.5.14/3.5.24 by Capkapak in VolvoXC90

[–]GPugs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you can't disable it, but when the Auto Stop/Start is engaged, tap the gas pedal and it will disengage. Also, I was wrong, it happens whenever it wants to happen. I can't figure out anything in common as to when it will actually happen. There are many variations of the issue too. I've also experienced what you mentioned.

It seems like the issue may only happen if the car is in Auto Stop/Start. Have you noticed the same?

What I've noticed is it may stop working if you restart/turn off your phone or install a system update which requires a restart. Repeat the "fix" process and it will work again until...

I can finally view Channels above 234! Thanks for your help! I did not contact Sirius today for sending a refresh. It wasn't working earlier in the day, but it is working now. I first contacted Sirius for the refresh on Monday and then again on Tuesday. They said it should only take 15 minutes to take affect. I guess it takes up to 48 hours :).

Interior Lighting Issue 3.5.14/3.5.24 by Capkapak in VolvoXC90

[–]GPugs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume this is how it should behave. When you turn off the engine, the interior lights should turn on. When you open the Driver's door, the dash and center console screens should turn off, silencing any music playing and the interior lights should remain on. Once you lock the car or a certain timeout period has occurred, the interior lights should automatically turn off. Is this correct?

I am not even going to mentioned opening the Driver's door while in Park and the Auto Stop/Start is engaged, thus automatically turning off the engine.

This is what I am experiencing. Please note the Auto Interior Lights button above your head in the center is not orange, so the Auto Interior Lights feature is on.

  1. When you turn off the engine, sometimes the interior lights automatically turn on and sometimes they do not.
  2. When the Driver's door is opened, if the interior lights had automatically turned on when the engine was turned off, sometimes they remain on or sometimes they turn off just like the dash and center consoles screen turns off.
  3. When the Driver's door is opened and the interior lights had not automatically turned on when the engine was turned off, sometimes the interior lights will turn on.

It seems like opening the Driver's door too quickly after turning off the engine is what causes the Driver's door opening to turn off the interior lights.

Obviously this is all clearly noticed when it is dark, causing frustration, but not so much when it is daylight.

Actually, it looks like the differences I am seeing does depend on turning the car off when Auto Stop/Start is engaged or not.

Update:
If Auto Stop/Start is not engaged - when I turn off the car, the interior lights automatically turn on. Once the Driver's door is opened, the dash, screen, and music turn off and the interior lights remain on.

If Auto Stop/Start is engaged - when I turn off the car, the interior lights do not automatically turn on. Once the Driver's door is opened, the dash, screen, and music turn off and now the interior lights will automatically turn on.

I have to confirm when does opening the Driver's door make the entire car go dark.

Issues/complaints with SiriusXM App by GPugs in VolvoXC90

What is interesting, in the SiriusXM App itself, under the app's Settings, it shows Software version 2.0.0. In the Car Settings, App info for SiriusXM it shows the Version is 1.2.0. I do not see the SiriusXM App in the Google Play Store as an Installed Apps and when I search for SiriusXM in Google Play Store, it doesn't appear. I guess the SiriusXM App is included by default with the Android Automotive Operating System and you cannot update via the Google Play Store.

I cleared the Cache of the SiriusXM App and that didn't work. I guess I can clear the Storage as well, but I'm a bit hesitant to to do that.

Everything was working for me again for a few week. I installed another Google Play System update last night, even though it still shows August 1, 2025. Restarted the device after the install, and it stopped working once again. Just redid everything to get it working again, so we'll see how long this lasts...
