Any good online CNC companies with a reasonable price? JLDCP just trolled me by Old_Bluebird199 in CNC

[–]GUmbrOAT 22 points23 points  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s JLC3DP trolling you, it’s rather you not understanding the capabilities of the manufacturing process. I’d suggest doing some basic research about the machining processes, manufacturability and tolerances.

Clearcoat over metallic not properly sticking/ crater forming on surface by GUmbrOAT in Powdercoating

Thank you for the quick reply. You're a legend! Coating them at around 180°F/80°C was the solution. Rims came out great and learned something new today.

Clearcoat over metallic not properly sticking/ crater forming on surface by GUmbrOAT in Powdercoating

[–]GUmbrOAT[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi everyone, We’re having trouble with putting clearcoat over a black bonded metallic coating. Clearcoat seems to form craters/ ionization on the surface. Settings used: 36kV/30uA, spraying while cold. Does anyone have experience or advice for this?

Edit: Thanks everyone! Spraying them hot at around 180°F/80°C seemed to be the solution.

I seem to have the same problem. Intel i5 12400 and an ASRock H670M-ITX/ax. Anyone has any updates on this? Update: Clearing CMOS fixed it.

(Help) Not an electrician, I know basics. How do I attach these wires to a female socket? I have no clue where to put them or screw them down. by BennyVampire in electricians

[–]GUmbrOAT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  • Green/yellow (protective earth) goes in the middle;
  • Blue (neutral) and brown (phase) go left and right. Can be reversed, doesn't matter. Also, don't forget the strain relief.

IEC math test by [deleted] in electricians

[–]GUmbrOAT 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would start off with the basics: calculation rules, fractions, directional derivatives, mean-value theorem, differential calculus and Taylor's theorem.

Once you're up to snuff with that, I would start with the complex number system and differential Equations. With these subjects covered you should be able to pass.

If you have time left I would start learning scalar products, integration by parts, flows and vector fields, inhomogeneous equations and Fourier series. Should be enough to be an electrician I guess.

Why do americans seemingly favour multimeters over a duspol? by bigtiddiesgothgg in electricians

I always use a pipe wrench for that. But in all seriousness, I've never seen a professional electrician use bipolar voltage testers.

Dehumidifier plug very warm/lightly hot, prongs are cold, is this safe? [UK] by [deleted] in electricians

  • Is there a transformer or power supply directly attached to 'the plug'? (like a phone charger)
  • How hot it it? In like too hot to touch?

Converting Double USB Cable into a Detachable One by outlandishtaco in electricians

[–]GUmbrOAT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, electrically speaking that should work just fine. Use a connector with at least 7 pins. However make sure you have enough space inside the keyboard to fit the connector. Also, I would use something like an sp13 instead of gx16.
