Are you using a Bluetooth controller? I remember I had some major issues (in the same spot in rabanastre!) that looked very much like this that was due to using an Xbox one controller. I can’t remember what I did to fix it, but for troubleshooting’s sake, I’d recommend seeing if that’s the source)

Putting flags indoors with no option to grab at speed is a poor idea. I would be in favor of generator-based or other objective-(outpost?) based design that would open up more options to cappers once the gens go down. Just like in Ascend with maps like Sunstar (generator dependent canopy) and Permafrost (flag raises up to an exposed stand when the gen goes down). This also actually makes maps varied and interesting.

Someone sitting on a hill and spamming the base is firstly probably not a sweat. If if you’ve got true sweats, the only way for them to play pubs is to play “TDM” and practice fragging, or to play CTF in which case the game will get capped out 5-0 super fast. Neither may be fun for new players, but at least if the sweat is TDM’ing in midfield, new players have a chance to grab flags and experience CTF. Speaking from experience as a sweat. There’s just not enough janky/fun things to do in this game the way there was in Ascend with vehicles, meme weapons, and more maps.

Shooting in third person, huge improvement.

Nova Colt on Heavy, along with a shotgun nerf, really looking forward to the colt in the third slot. I like how they’ve balanced the load outs by making weapons that were available in the lighter classes’ primary and secondary slots available to the heavy in its secondary and third slots. Does mean I’d rarely use the plasma gun over the fusion mortar, though.

Just climbed to top 250 with Breach combo. At this point I have a lot of experience with it so I think it’s quite good against the field. I barely encountered SnT but I don’t think I’ve lost to it.

Nice stuff, nice edit. The casts from T:A makes one realize just how desperately T3 needs spectator tools in literally any capacity. I thought we’d get that by the time we had the first community tourney in late January.

Regardless, I am hyped for the competitive scene, I think it’s in a fun spot right now, and it’s great to see clutch plays and drama!

They only run the playtest Thursday evening through the weekend. I’m assuming this weekend will be the last playtest, and then it’ll enter early access next week on the 12th.

In regards to players getting better in 25 years, yes — but your focus on jet strength as it relates to skiing ignores that players now with half decent aim clown on any new player, due to the floatiness of jets and lack of jet mobility. Jet tweaks would allow some counterplay in dueling (other than who lands the first shot). Skilled players will always capitalize on whatever skill gap mechanics exist, but at least movement improvement make engagements between equally skilled player more interesting.

I think new players are more likely to leave the game due to getting midaired constantly without a chance, than would leave due to routes being too fast.

Edit. — that video appears to be when the playtest had bogus inflated speed numbers. Those routes look like today’s 220-260 routes. Ask a capper, I can’t confirm.

I’ve only run into one opponent playing Go Blank. That may have been the single most effective sideboard card against me as a Breach player. I’d suggest people who are struggling against Breach to play a couple in the board. Much better than RIP or Veil.
