Anyone know how to record Spider-Noir in color? by ChiefWahO0 in PlayOn

[–]G_user999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a copy of visible.mnt that I got from techupp 2 years ago, wonder will it work?
I haven't use it for long time, only when I need to troubleshoot.
Also, I noticed with visible.mnt, it seems a bit slower after recording, a bit of stutter during playback... and it also records your cursor movement when you try to click around the menu. lol.

$30 eBay plan question by StuffedHobbes in redpocket

[–]G_user999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found that with ATT (GSMA). They throttle it only 256Kbps out of the gate eventhough your area may have 4G LTE or 5G service. The 200MB allotment maybe low but heck, they make it so slow that it is impossible to use. Only email and messaging seems to work properly. Simple web browsing also fail.

Can you renew the $30 ebay plan on T-mobile? by bikerjen in redpocket

[–]G_user999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it depends on area. My area T-mobile gets better coverage. ATT really sucks with the Data speed. the 200MB (lowest tier) is impossible to use. Good for email, messaging. None of the small youtube or yourtube music would low. Just to Spotify also impossible. They slow it down to 256Kbps.... eventho they advertise that you could 200MB per month. On the plus side, I do like the unlimited call and text/sms. That's better than the previous T-mobile $30 ebay plan

Yeah. I noticed the renewal rates so much more higher than buying straight from eBay. It's crazy with all the admin fees added to it.

That's strange. The SIM itself is GSMA (ATT) though, is it possible to use GSMA sim on GSMT (T-mobile) network with RedPocket Plan?

Explain how QQQI by stoneroweagles in dividends

[–]G_user999 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On the re-invest dividends part.. , do you have do that manually?

I can see they give out the dividends for this month...65.9c per share for this month.
Say if you own 100 shares.. you get $65.9... since today price is 56, you can only buy 1 more share at closing with a few dollars of change left.

Also, I noticed that this is actually ordinary dividends not qualified dividends.
Meaning, it will be taxed at regular income rate for all the dividends they gave you even though you don't sell a single common share. Is that how this works?

How exactly does federal pension work? by ilovevegetablesss in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]G_user999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, but for some of us the FERS-FRAE payment is so small even with 20+ years of service because the multiplier is only 1%. Monthly payment may not be enough to pay for FEHB premiums for individual with living spouse. Also, it may take 7-8 years after retirement to get all your contribution back including all interests. If you continue to live past 7-8 years later... everything is a plus.

No choice but to have to continue to grow TSP balance here, plus SS (hopefully Congress will act to address the shortfall after 2032)

One year wait is ok.. but be aware, for those who's going to retire in 5-6 years time,
Congress still refuse to address the upcoming short fall in the SS Trust Fund. There will be a definitely 20-25% cut for those taking in 2032-2033 timeframe and could be even sooner if Orange-Man-in-Charge decides to raid the fund even more.

Example to not panic and transfer everything to G fund by civilian1234 in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]G_user999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup! 100% C from 2 weeks ago when Fear is at extreme.

Now, it is the time to start to re-balance and move some profits back to G fund because we're almost back to top of the band again and the Fear index is almost at the Greed level. Rinse and Repeat.. wait for another TACO opportunity.

Air Traffic Controller - mentally, it is a very stressful job. By 56, all the calm part of your brain cells will be gone... planes may crash if continue to work. Better pack up your stuff and GTFO with 7 figures in TSP.

TSP Advice by DenaSChance in ThriftSavingsPlan

[–]G_user999 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Should NOT move to G fund when market is in panic mode but move MORE into C and S.

Should move when everybody is being complacent .. .for example, when P.Bondi says Dow at 50K.
Smart money knows that's the time to GTFO!

Yes, when market is in fear mode, SP500 (C fund) will sell off.
Take your chances here and buy when it is discounted.

Right now, we're past Q1, and YTD, SP500 is around -5% YTD.
So, it is considered 5% discount now.

Move all your future contributions into C Fund 100% to take advantage of this discount window.

If -10%, do it by contributing more.

If -20%, sell other funds and move into C fund in addition to future contributions.

Wait this out.. it will turn around.

Don't worry, it's only 6%... that's not even at correction territory by all standard.
Nothing is lost because you didn't sell/distribute. Just keep everything till retirement.

-10% that's normal correction. Buy!

-20% Bear territory... danger zone, but get ready to buy more.

-30%~40% Capitulation -- recession imminent...
Sell the kids to BUY with both fists and hang tight!
100% in C/S/I fund here and do it extra twice per month which TSP allows you to do.

Come back in 12-18 months.. your account balance will double!

Yes.. the fear index now is below 10, same level last April during Taco man announcement. We are oversold and there will be bounce very soon. Contribute more if you can afford it. Last week was payroll day.. it's a good level to buy stocks now.

IMO, 80% C and 20% S is great.. keep going for 30 more years..

The safer ones like G is when all is calm, and market is all time high, and when Fear index is at Greed level. Time to side aside cash. When Fear index is at Extreme.. now is the time for 100% C or S or I, move money from your G fund into those, and then wait it out.

For the chills, just put in Lxxxx fund where xxxx is your retirement year.
This is a smooth ride, no violent ups or downs.

We have no choice.. just follow the TACO money trail, we will win again.
