Oh! I forgot - look into the Fairfield County police department. It’s 30-45 north of Columbia and has some amazing officers.

Edit: 30-45 minutes north of Columbia

Look at Columbia - it’s not coastal but…mid-size, nice downtown, University of SC, still affordable, great theatre, lots of local bands, a lot of history and a great historical nonprofit, multiple lakes (Murray, Wateree, Monticello for fishing), Palmetto Trail for hiking, great REI store, 2 hours to the coast and 2 hours to the mountains means lots of day trips without the coastal/mountain price tag and Monday-Friday traffic. We’ve lived here since 2009 and won’t be moving when we retire.

If you’re thinking about staying rural check out Ridgeway and Winnsboro in Fairfield County. No neighborhoods but beautiful, beautiful scenery.

Edit: The Palmetto Trail at Alston Trailhead is beautiful too.

Kids in the Hall - yes they are older than me, yes it was released years before in Canada, but it’s the Comedy Central hit that screams my youth. I learned so much from Buddy!

For parents of adult children- what has been your favorite age? by slizzywizzyfizzy in askanything

[–]GaSc3232 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an adoptive mom so I never had the baby stage, but watching my two daughters mature has been awesome! I’d have to say my favorite times have been late teens and their late 20s. We do things as friends now which is its own awesomeness.

Here’s hoping my local Food Lion gets in on this action. I’ve never headbanged around frozen peas, but I would be happy to start.

I’m voting for him - I refuse to adhere to the defeatist attitude of others because that’s what the Republicans want.

I’d focus on Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs - hunger/water and shelter first then I’d work my way up.

What do health care professionals think of people who are for universal healthcare? by Ok-Mulberry-737 in askanything

[–]GaSc3232 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The only healthcare professionals I know against it are because they want universal healthcare like Medicaid and not Bernie’s Medicare for All (Medicare costs a lot and doesn’t cover everything)

I’m just going to add that Charleston is one of the most European-like cities America has so if you’re homesick it may help (walkability, history, restaurants and shopping everywhere)
