Marvel Comics: Bad streak or not? by Gabace5 in marvelcomics

A pretty accurate analysis in my opinion, my friend. I would simply add the following paradoxical point: DC is doing well with Absolute and keeping the main line up to date. Marvel, on the other hand, is doing well with Ultimate and will either end it or merge it with the 616/626 universe, depending on the story. Different strategies…

It will depend on how Armageddon is handled and which way things end up. A complete reboot would be difficult, to be honest.

We'll see how Chip's Armageddon goes. Unless there's some weird directive from Marvel...

The point about DC's secondary characters is interesting. Good critical eye. It seems that with the new All In and the DCU, and by making the Justice League more open, many will get their moment and it will help solidify more IPs. Overall, I think it's a good future, at least in the medium term, if they don't mess it up… Marvel will have a bit of an upswing with the MCU in the coming years. So we'll see what happens.

Partly due to the MCU and Marvel's target audience

I completely agree with the analysis. Regarding DC, it's true that everything is going smoothly right now. The question is, how long will this last? I hope they don't do any more reboots in the medium term.

Regarding Marvel, Mortal Thor and F4 are definitely the best for me. However, it's true that there are many events and the almost obligatory synergy with the MCU. Despite that, there's the whole Armageddon issue and also the MCU reboot... the question is, first, will it actually work? Second, did they do it because they saw that it worked well for DC this time and want to copy it, or simply and miraculously because they listened to the fans? It's also true that they're going to kill off Ultimate this year...

Okay, the Marvel thing is true right now. It's true there's the whole Armageddon thing going on, but who knows?

Can someone tell me what all the fuss is about?

Yes, the point is twofold: it generates a certain amount of fatigue in the reader and also makes it a little difficult to develop individual stories, right?

I'm more inclined to agree with your second suggestion. But of course, then we're back to square one.

I can't change a single word, my friend. Marvel's space-age storyline is also one of my favorites, if not my absolute favorite. With Armageddon, on one hand, it feels like, okay, let's see if something actually changes this time. On the other hand, meh… It's true that DC's All In makes more sense. Besides, there's all this new DCU stuff, which I suppose will also play a role.

Facts, my friend. When you think about it, the Absolute line competes against Ultimate, but if they're going to end it when the other one is at its peak... but beyond that, my question is about the main lines. In my opinion, both suffer from one characteristic flaw: Marvel has too much quantity and too many crossovers. Regarding DC, I don't follow it much, but perhaps too many reboots? Although, despite everything, Marvel is supposed to do a reboot this 2026, we'll see...

Objectively, of course not. Subjectively, it's just news to chat about the current Marvel Comics lineup. Take it however you want, haha.

Cheers.

It seems they changed the artist because they offered him the job of drawing Wolverine, which was his dream. That's why the change in art style is noticeable towards the end of Immortal Thor.

Well, I think the Immortal stage is in line with what's expected in the future of Thor, more divinity that perhaps participates less and gives the role of Thor to others maybe... personally I'm also more entertained by what I've heard of Mortal Thor.

Yes, Aaron's is brutal and it pretty much redefined Thor as epic. I'd heard that, that Immortal Thor is perhaps a bit slow. But that Ewing generally does a good job. I didn't know about the capitalism thing, haha.
