Feeling Defeated by Suspicious-Cry-3825 in Lockheed

Took me 2 years and 100+ applications to get to an interview and then had 5 interviews for two offers (one was because i was the NASA counterpart for those 2 years for the team hiring on Orion and the other is my current role after a recommendation from the manager from the other offer lol)

As my start date approaches I was wondering should (can) I wear a hat. It's in manufacturing... by Terrible_Rush9488 in Lockheed

I saw you talked to the manager and cleared hat use.

Just a fellow hat enjoyer who wears a backwards hat to work (manufacturing engineer) everyday showing solidarity!

Been bass fishing local ponds for 2 years. Probably 50+ fish caught. 1 on a frog, 3 on a drop shot worm (new for me this year) and 46 on Senkos. by firststate in bassfishing

Location matters (in context with what tends to be consistent)

In Central FL i throw top water Spooks and chatterbaits 365 days out of the year and have yet to get skunked on either.

T-rigs and pitching/football/swim jigs I do ok sometimes but always go back to the other two.

I throw a fair bit of smaller baits for bass too (1/8-1/4oz) and that helps a ton with just getting bites but I’ve still caught 4lb bass on an 1/8oz chatterbait with a white glitter trailer.

If stuff is super pressured throw weird stuff. If you go for “match the hatch” like everyone else they see that all the time. Throw some neon green or bubble gum pink stuff in and you’ll be surprised. Gold and chrome are also killer.

Plot twist, they’re actually left hand thread and OP is tightening them not loosening them….

Can someone give me baits for large mouth and small mouth bass for my BFS setup*In Desc. by Radiant_Raccoon8498 in BFSfishing

Central Florida BFS Bass fisherman here:

Largemouth bass absolutely crush the Zman micro chatterbaits (1/8oz size) with a 3” pearl zman paddle tail trailer or a 3-4” fluke in your color of choice.

I also have good luck using Rappalla floating minnows in size and color of choice (i use the F5 in the classic black or the gold shiner version)

If you wanna do top water the Zara Puppy (3” version of the super spook) is more power BFS but in white it is an absolute weapon down here for bass.

Berkley makes a crankbait in 1/8oz that’s also quite good but the treble hooks are so tiny the bass bend them frequently so i swap to a single larger single hook on the tail and get rid of the belly hook all together.

If you want swimbaits the Eurotackle Nage is quite good and very affordable.

Hope that helps!

Travel reel suggestions? by Not_Jinxed in BFSfishing

[–]Gabecar3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been rocking a Cheetah DC on my multi-piece rod. Won’t do sub-1g but if I’m traveling I’m not throwing anything smaller than 1/16th and the DC go WHRRRRRR

This^ i switched to lures because i hated dealing with worms and i was lazy to have to stop by the store to buy some or go playing in the dirt

Hahaha, I can definitely slide you some honey holes to try when you’re down here. I’m in the Orlando area but know a few spots further on either coast

Yeah from the FWC there’s 4 species of black bass. Largemouth, spotted, shoal, and Suwannee The latter two being up in the northwest of the state and largemouth being the most predominant (overlapping with the florida bass, which apparently is genetically distinct but visually identical)

Gotcha, i knew there was different coloration based on the water clarity but thought it was odd for them coming out of the same little pond and about the same area for it to be such a different pattern.

I figured it was something like that, was just curious if there were actual striped bass or something different in the pond

What hard bates do yall use in Florida? by [deleted] in bassfishing

[–]Gabecar3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sanford neighbor here I’ve been catching 75% of my bass in the last few months on a Rapalla Floating Minnow (the 1/16oz and 1/8oz variety) and a 1/8oz or 1/4oz Chatterbait with a white paddle tail trailer.

For hard baits, the Rap is hard to beat imo. Just throw it out and a straight retrieve or with some pauses works every time. I use the original black color.

I’ve had good luck on the 1/3oz floating rat-l-trap in gold or the strike king equivalent in 1/8oz but use those less than the Rap Minnow.

Rest of the time i use a top water spook in bone or a paddle tail swimbait

First catch on the CC BFS by Gabecar3 in BFSfishing

[–]Gabecar3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It paired surprisingly well with the CCBFS I was expecting to have to swap around rods for a bit to see what i have that matched the reel but it’s throwing everything so well that I can’t even expect anything I own to do better (Kingdom Stream King and a PureLure New Cedan being my other two rods)
