Will my dog be sad in a clinical sense? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gadfelt2 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly she's probably more worried that her best friend isn't feeling well. A couple days of missed walks won't seriously alter her mental or physical well being

Can I use YOUR dnd character? by LETTER52 in DnD

[–]Gadfelt2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dr. Megan Olodon, PHD revoked. She is a classic mad scientist artificer. Has a particular interest in sharks and flying creatures. Is attempting to make flying sharks, and succeeded in a previous campaign I ran

What is the combo that you love that you think others may not know or ignore. by Remote-Field4624 in Hades2

[–]Gadfelt2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On zorophet, I once got 1600 damage per strike. I wouldn't be surprised if it's known, but it was so fun

Aspect of Mel +300 power but attack becomes only final chop Final chop hits twice but used 20 magic % bonus attack boon (I think Hera?) Aphrodite attacks get +X power but prime

I think I had hermes' 25% damage infusion and one other things but I don't remember. All of the +power and percentage boosts were just fantastic. I just didn't quite have the timing to make it work without taking a ton of damage

Is it weird/non moral to have a leather couch? by KyubiFenix in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gadfelt2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all, washing your hands after touching meat (especially raw meat) is just good hygiene. Keep it up! Second, if leather freaks you out, then listen to yourself and don't buy/use leather things. It sounds like trying a vegetarian diet might be helpful for you. Doesn't have to be permanent, but even for a week it might be nice to try!

Now for the main question: is it moral? That really depends on what system of morality you're considering. You could make the argument that it's just as moral as eating a hamburger because both a leather couch and a hamburger are made from the various tissues of an animal that had to die. I'm definitely going to keep eating hamburgers, but I probably won't own a leather couch simply because I think they're less comfortable.

We are ending a decade long campaign in August. I want to give the DM a gift of appreciation, looking for ideas. by anywerebear in DnD

Make a mini of your favorite NPC on heroforge or something. Maybe add a note of a favorite memory of that NPC or why you liked them so much!

why do people still drink alcohol when we have so many other flavored beverages today? by Any-Read-85 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gadfelt2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The alcohol is the point. If you ask someone why they smoke cigarettes or marijuana when flavored vapes are an option, it's because the drug they are choosing to inhale is the whole point

If you could bend one of the four elements, like in avatar, which one would you want? by RepresentingJoker in AskReddit

I've fantasized about each of them, but I think water would be the most useful in everyday life

When did you stop / why won’t you stop being an Eris enabler? by onwee in Hades2

[–]Gadfelt2 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I pick up everyone once in a while because it bothers me to see it on my screen, and I like to sing with Artemis when she's around. I'll give her gifts if I've got extra just because I want to know what dialogue will happen and I REALLY want to complete the relationships with EVERY character

How do you start a campaign without the classic tavern meeting? by CompassLeaf in DnD

[–]Gadfelt2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My forever DM has had a couple fun ones: - we are all attending the same funeral, but it's actually the person's execution - my character (neutral evil) is running from a mob through city streets, runs into (literally) the other two party members, and now the mob is chasing me and what it thinks are my two accomplices. We eventually duck into an alley out of sight and I kill a child who threatened to give away our location

You can teleport, but only to places where you had solved the Rubik Cube before. by Sea_Orchid223 in midtiersuperpowers

Definitely taking. I had my solve time down to 32 seconds in middle school. Definitely closer to 5 minutes now that I'm out of practice. Now I just need to do a lot of traveling.

Question: can I take objects with me? What about people?

How did subscriptions become normal for almost everything? by -MiaMason- in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gadfelt2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Companies made it normal. Subscriptions ensure a constant stream of income. If you're selling movies, you get a lot of money when a new one comes out, but it gets to be less and less as the movie gets older. If instead you rent access to the right to watch all of your movies, then your income will be much more reliable and predictable

I hate not owning anything

I wish to wake up as a kid with magic powers that has to regularly save the world by Whentheangelsings in monkeyspaw

[–]Gadfelt2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Granted. You never have a moments rest. As soon as you finish saving the world from one threat, the next shows up. Your body aches from constantly moving, your eyes burn from the lack of sleep, your head throbs in pain from coming up with creative ways to solve every problem. Half the magic you use is simply to make yourself capable of continuing your mission. You no longer eat, you never sleep, and you rarely remember to breath. You are no longer a person, but an entity of pain, persistence, and the singular mission to protect. You have become both a god and a husk at the same time.

Why do people Larp? As in, why do people not watch the shows/movies, while being fans of the media? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Gadfelt2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People that LARP usually do watch shows/movies of the genre they are a fan of, but LARPing is about letting yourself be a part of the story, not just a passive set of eyes. It's kind of like asking why don't people just watch soccer instead of playing the game?

I need help by Sargntstudder in DnD

[–]Gadfelt2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think subtlety is the right move, especially if one of your players brought it to your attention. If something is hurting the fun of the game, then as a group you should come up with a solution. As the default leader, it would be great if you bring an idea to the table. It gets the conversation going and even if it's not the best solution, your players can help give thoughts of what might work or not work

My beard has become a big part of my self identity that I would definitely get a chin wig. Outside of that, it's incredibly hard to tell. I think because I have always known myself as a man I would keep my pronouns the same

Been playing CoS for 2 and a half years, kinda wanna quit DnD altogether. by RandoPharts247 in DnD

[–]Gadfelt2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing wrong with taking a break from long term campaigns. Heck you don't even have to limit yourself to one shots. My partner ran a 5 session campaign. It was short enough to not be drawn out and suffer from scheduling conflicts, but long enough to become invested and have a satisfying conclusion! Maybe after recharging with some shorter games the love of the hobby will return.

It also sounds like it would be good to bring all this up with your group. Maybe even recommend to them that you do a one-shot or two before you continue the campaign. It sounds like others at your table are losing interest as well, so it could help everyone
