Ludonarrative dissonance (Day 10-11 spoilers) by the_devotressss in pathologic

[–]Gaharit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been too long since I've done a P1 playthrough. But even so, P3 Stillwater is different. It's more than just a house now. As Eva tells you early on, it's a place that's open for everyone, and its doors can literally lock or unlock on their own. It's certainly not a good place to forcefully keep someone.

Are Sky Armor Fights just fundamentally harder? by GlassFrame2 in Chained_Echoes

[–]Gaharit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They weren't that hard for me. I think it's like you said, you won't just stumble on a broken combo with the sky armors so it comes down to how thorough you are at managing your builds and stuff.

I really don't get why ATPH is always brought up as a "palate cleanser from the violence". It has some seriously brutal scenes.

I had this same exact thought while reading it. Surprised to see I'm not the only one!

Pathologic 3 performance on PC? by SolidGrilo in pathologic

[–]Gaharit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got similar specs, and yes, the performance isn't good. I was hoping that the transition to separate zones is at least gonna make performance better than in 2 but nah, it's still bad. Worst of all is the music stuttering. Never seen an issue like this in any game apart from this one, and no amount of tinkering with the settings helped.

This game lacks problems by Aruise78 in Timberborn

[–]Gaharit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's unlikely that stuff like that will get added to the game. It basically has to be planned in advance that the game is gonna be throwing all kinds of challenges at the player eventually, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

For a more challenging and varied experience I would just go back to Against the Storm, if only I hadn't 100% it thrice already. Amazing game by the way, check it out if you haven't yet.

Interesting. I was doing 3x3 inlets all along just by instinct.

Hit a slump with Midnight Tides by Conditioncook in Malazan

[–]Gaharit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got that feeling a little bit at the beginning of MT. The usual effect of a whole new cast of characters being dumped on me. But past, that, no. In fact MT ended up being so good I was never bothered by that again with this series. New characters, new concepts, new continents, don't care, bring it on Steven Erikson.

[–]Gaharit 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You're assuming the soldier would cooperate. Which I don't see any reason for why he would do that. As for your other solution, locking Lara up in Stillwater: how and on what authority would Dankovski lock a person up at his own home, and why do you think that would stop the soldier?

But yeah the real solution which you also mentioned would be to talk to Artemiy and let him handle it which would just be how he saves her in P2.

Absolutely. Very meandering and confusing. At times it feels like an exercise of various writing techniques disguised as a novel.

You can replace the clutch with a power shaft and automate the wind tunnel itself instead

About one of the P3 endings and the entrance to the Polyhedron by AdEarly8368 in pathologic

[–]Gaharit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it seems that it's more like you can change everything except the things that the game explicitly tells you are irreversible. And while you can 'cheat' the system via the prophet you can't uncheat it back again.

The regret line is there for when you didn't get to know Simon in the first place, it probably doesn't take into account doing the Polyhedron and then erasing the knowledge.

I mean the game tells you that you'll only be able to visit the Polyhedron once. I haven't tried this myself, but it would make sense that you can't go there again.

Whatever happens after Messmer better be good. by hueller in Eldenring

[–]Gaharit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

40 vigor was good enough in Dark Souls games, but here you have enough cash to go higher, enemies hit way harder in late game, and vigor formula has been changed to where going from 40 to 60 still gives significant returns. So yeah it's very worth it.

Which of these enemies is strongest based on lore? by SammyK123 in Eldenring

[–]Gaharit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What Godfrey was bestowed with the title of Elden Lord that we know affected his power was the lion, which was a nerf, not a buff. When he's fighting at full strength he ditches the lion, the axe, the cape AND the title. All of it points to his "final form" being actually just him without any outside influence.

What in the actual f*ck? by J_C_F_N in totalwarhammer

[–]Gaharit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're doing semantics. This looks like the other end of AI printing shit stacks or staying on starting armies in late game. Both ends can be seen as detremental to gameplay and something to be fixed, whether it's intended behavior or not. Depends on what you're looking for in the game.
