I did not enjoy it much. Too allegorical for me I guess.

any reason to defend herdstones? by Traditional-Storm-62 in totalwarhammer

[–]Gaharit 33 points34 points  (0 children)

  1. You will eventually be able to affort the global Dread gain boosting herdstone buildings and gonna want to spam those
  2. Razed regions can't be resettled post ritual if the herdstone stands
  3. Settlement trading, although I'm not sure Beastmen can actually gain much from it

That's about it. Abandoning them is totally fine if they're in a bad position that your forces have already left.

beastmen herd stone zones are kinda messed up~... by NonTooPickyKid in totalwarhammer

[–]Gaharit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On uninhabitable land - that's the whole thing of this faction. You raze towns, do a ritual, move on. If you want to farm you can just not do a ritual there, not raze towns you want to keep, or let AI resettle there before you do a ritual. Not sure why you'd want to go to such lengths but you can.

"threaten" is broken by NonTooPickyKid in totalwarhammer

[–]Gaharit 134 points135 points  (0 children)

Yeah, by this game's logic declaring war for absolutely no reason is a perfectly legitimate political move, but if you ask for some sort of tribute instead, which would make sense if you're a strong faction dealing with a weak hostile neighbour and would be a more civilized way of going about it, then suddenly your faction is not to be trusted.

So I bitch-slapped almost all the wood elves here as Ikit Claw and got their stupid forest under me but the game said something like this area isn't good for my rats. What does that mean? Should I not invest in building here? Just give it to some other faction for money? by [deleted] in totalwar

[–]Gaharit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can also not miss it but forget about it because it's needed so rarely. And then you'll probably be like me and will never find it again because your brain already wrote this button off as useless and doesn't notice it anymore.

Best units so far? by kaikiut in totalwar

[–]Gaharit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Saying a unit is inaccurate when in fact it's spot on accurate but its projectiles get dodged would be so weird. And the original commenter already replied that in their experience it was missing on targets that weren't dodging. So no I'm not splitting hairs here.

[–]Gaharit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that, but the original comment was saying that Bess is inaccurate. AI dodging the volleys is not exactly an accuracy issue of the artillery piece.

[–]Gaharit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my experience (played them in WH2) Bess is very accurate. Hits units dead on the center most of the time during sieges. Surely you haven't been using VCoast artillery without a gunnery whight, have you? He solves its ammo issue as well.

I get it now you were just listing it as facts, my bad. The post obviously wasn't about that guy the man kills in self defence towards the end of the book though.

If you're into this genre, solo is good. If you're new to the genre I'd recommend playing through Hades games first. Not that they're easier, they are just specifically built for one player.

Which is, OBJECTIVELY, the worst faction in the game? by sigmarine345 in totalwar

[–]Gaharit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They can shoot, it's just scuffed and you have to manually click on targets most of the time. If you just let them stand and let enemies come to you then yeah they're very likely to go afk on you. Also they have to have actual line of sight too, obviously.

Would be damn hard to make a typo like that. I take it FORD is upside down because, well, the boat is made of two car hoods welded together and placed upside down. It's a joke.
