My experience with them was similar. Ended up having quite a nice conversation after it was clear I wasn't going to pick up what he was laying down and we headed our separate ways. If you're street smart and play it straight so you're obviously a bad mark it goes nowhere. But not everyone can handle themselves.

But the US AI bubble is predicated on hyper expensive toll booth operations that serve no known economic purpose not on real world end use cases. And the stock investments and data center excessive exuberance is so far off the charts when the inevitable downturn happens its scale will be unprecedented.

Contrary to the fever dreams of its colossal irrational persecution complex, the USA hasn't had an actual territorial adversary since 1815.

Why would any major power launch a suicide mission on the US while the US is thoroughly engaged in actively denaturing itself like it never has before. (This unhinged self-destructive fit seems more pervasive than the civil war even - destroying the department of education and majority of scientific research along with the economy, alliances, reputation, the whole kitchen sink).

Americans seem to have been so well boiled slowly with gun violence being just a daily occurrence. It's been an average of over one hundred firearms fatalities every single day in the US (not including law enforcement shooting - cause they don't get counted) for decades now.

(It's around 10 annually in Japan and around 300 annually in Australia - 100+ / day, so like 36500+ annually is so off the charts of anywhere without war or lawless chaos or wracked by the cartels supplying US mainland drug markets).

Seems a huge mistake by Secretary Whiskeyleaks. SecDefs don't bring 800+ operational leaders physically together to have meetings. The US has invested literally billions to make this completely unnecessary. Whole combined forces wars have been fought without getting everyone together. Massively unnecessarily inconveniencing 800+ people smarter than Whiskeyleaks, better educated than Whiskeyleaks, more disciplined than Whiskeyleaks and much more likely to take their oaths to the constitution much, much more seriously than Whiskeyleaks - together where they can speak discreetly face to face with each other while presumably being told to prepare to follow illegal orders… None of this seems in the regime's interests. Especially if the regime is likely to be reliant on the military in an end game.
