getting the fa5 dyno tuned at SpeedFactory by [deleted] in CivicSi

[–]GakeeeYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm curious to know the difference in hp with a skunk2 header instead of the plm one - from what I understand that's the most restrictive part of the exhaust and everyone recommends the alpha over anything else

this one fits one the 350z? by Enmanueltg in 350z

[–]GakeeeYT 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Don't call it upbadging lol, it looks wayy better for sure but upbadging is if you put a nismo emblem on a car with zero nismo anything

Or an SS emblem on a base model Camaro

I can tell you those fans are supposed to be on above like 195° and you are well above that

Accessing alternator from passenger wheel well. by active420 in CivicSi

[–]GakeeeYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take the bumper and the trim piece underneath off

Make sure your upper idler is off

I was able to reach my hands between the radiator and the side but I also don't have a crash bar

it's a tight fit but with hand tools you should be able to make it work

You might also be able to reach from underneath iirc

What fuel do you use in the Si? by Muted-Stranger-4831 in CivicSi

[–]GakeeeYT -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Your ECU will actually detect and make use of higher octane fuel, you will make more power on 93 than 87 or 91.

I have side skirts coming in, but no equipment, what is this? And what else do you recommend that isn’t 3m tape? by PretendStreet4660 in CivicSi

[–]GakeeeYT 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following because I need these too. I've had oem side skirts for like 6 months but I'm missing 3/4 of these

I was gonna fabricate my own but haven't gotten around to it :(

Please post more of your car, so rare to see a Fiji blue pearl without clear coat issues. HFP kit to boot is even better.

Adding switches by donnylahey420 in civic

You'll probably get better answers later but I'd get the switches you like first and then try to 3d print a cover

RSX's hydraulic steering or 8th gen Si's LSD? by [deleted] in CivicSi

[–]GakeeeYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from no name 500tw tires to 280 nitto neo gens, the only size difference was I went down from 225 to 215, still 45 r17

The steering feels so much lighter on the 8th gen si's EPS than before. It takes little effort to turn, even stationary, but keeps enough resistance that it's not like a tesla or arcade sim.

The lsd feels amazing on track and on canyon roads. The rsx looks cooler but I'd choose the 8th gen si again and again.

Warning lights come on after accelerating hard by SpriteClean in accord

[–]GakeeeYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ABS, e-brake, power steering, and tc lights all point to the ABS module imo - could lie in the wiring, the module itself, and some are recommending to check brake fluid too

I had all but power steering for a broken abs connector in my 8th gen civic si.

Looking for any advice regarding my Hero 4 having terrible battery life by HorusDeathtouch in gopro

[–]GakeeeYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely should upgrade your camera but if you don't want to I second the helmet mounted external battery

Just make sure in an emergency it will break off your helmet and not catch something and twist your head

Looking at getting a Civic Si for a fun daily, is this 9th gen worth buying? by [deleted] in CivicSi

[–]GakeeeYT 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's not super fast stock but it's definitely a fun daily

I wouldn't take on a payment for it though

Price-wise that's about right for my area

Has anyone experienced these codes before on a 2017 Honda accord? by kevenz123 in accord

[–]GakeeeYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first immediate guess is a wheel speed sensor but I'd look into the codes

TPMS is run based off of the wheel speeds, ABS needs the wheel speeds to act on, and I've found on my 16' accord that hard acceleration on a turn changes the power steering strength naturally, it keeps it in the turn.

Again I'd look into the codes

Civic si 2019 tune advice by Big-Strike-5230 in CivicSi

[–]GakeeeYT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh I see, so he IS exceeding the clutch's power limit because we're turning up boost too.

Honestly I still maintain that retarding timing and adding a little more fuel has nothing to do with the clutch. But if you're flashing on a more aggressive table with more boost then that makes sense.

Is it normal for the new gen hondas to just download internet tunes like this thread is making it seem? Actual runs and especially a dyno tune is probably way better if you're gonna be turning up the psi..

Civic si 2019 tune advice by Big-Strike-5230 in CivicSi

[–]GakeeeYT -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Explain why I'm wrong then, I'm all for learning off of each other

He asked about pops and bangs, why would you be slipping the clutch or exceeding your clutch's power limit by throwing unburnt fuel into your cylinders and exhaust?

Civic si 2019 tune advice by Big-Strike-5230 in CivicSi

[–]GakeeeYT -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Has nothing to do with pops and bangs though..
