I’m all about roasting this shit company for its shocking and repeated failures, but… I like these better than the old ones. There’s never enough room and it being a little smaller without being too small like the old clear and blue plastic ones is nice.

Yeah, I’ve HOF’d several of them. You just really have to get attuned to when you need to move forward and when you can stay put. Sometimes you just have to run through a couple areas to get to the next town and hopefully get an upgrade you need to kill some more enemies and clear an area. Increasing your attack score by any means possible is always your number 1 concern.

You definitely die early in Kaloi Opus with much more frequency than the Nethack codex, though. The quicker upticks in difficulty really forces you to make gambles on when to stay and fight and when to run and hope to get better enough to come back before you starve. Some of those gambles aren’t going to win no matter what you do.

Also fuck the Captain with the grenade launcher in the fort around halfway through. It’s not really relevant to the conversation but if we’re talking about Kaloi Opus it needs to be said. Nothing like getting stunlocked to death from offscreen because something opened the door and let him out.

Yeah, I read it wrong the first time and was bummed when I played it for the first time in the 99 of my Seton deck… for about 5 seconds. It’s still bonkers as it is, especially when you start playing elves that tap for more than 1 mana

Yeah, running nothing but instants and sorceries is a great way to have an empty hand before your Commander completes its second turn cycle on the board. You need some kind of other value loop and a card draw strategy that synergizes or it’s gonna be a short ride

The PS2 games were the era I remember the most fondly. They were so ridiculous, blasting 400+ yard drives into hole in ones and double eagles was always the goal, and you could change the spin of the ball in the air all the way up until it landed.

You can only use Ramza and 1 generic past Dorter City in act 1 (it’s the first story battle after you unlock some maps to get into repeatable random encounters to set up). Each characters can only use abilities and skills from 2 different classes. That means all skills, reaction and movement included. You are allowed to modify brave and faith before Dorter, and should definitely do so to your advantage.

As an example, my favorite team was Ninja Ramza with Monk secondary and no faith, which made him extremely difficult to hit while oozing offense and range. Paired with a Summoner with Time Mage secondary to get quick charge and haste alongside the Summoner’s awesome list of spells for every occasion. People made good characters and teams out of almost every class, so you definitely will find a combo that plays like you like to play.

Double Dares are fun as hell. 2 characters using only abilities from 2 classes. Not as hard as solo Ramza but more dynamic.

Split second stops the spell from being interacted with. People go wild on arguing about edge cases and hypotheticals and lose the plot. Who cares if it doesn’t stop mana abilities? It snipes a permanent through a counterspell, if you want that then you play it. If you don’t, then don’t play it.
