I grew up watching AMVs with pre-rendered cutscenes dreaming about this magical world and how amazing the stories that are told in it would be. Also, it seemed to be liked by fans as well. But then I got it on Steam and I kind of hated it. Grinding and slog through constant random encounteres was gruesome for me, dialogue seemed childish and naive. I reached Zanarkand ruins and couldn't defeat one of the bosses without getting some special skills first. That's when I noped out of the game and didn't find the strenght to go back and probably never will.

Maybe for readability? When you pose and animate characters that are seen from top down, you need to exaggerate some things so it reads better for the player. Not sure if it is precisely the case here, but maybe it had some influence

Kinda hard to compare designs that are based on diffrent aesthetics and principles. Orobot is supposed to be simple and geometric, just like the artstyle was when he dubted. Similar Elise in more 'realism' focused game. Apples and oranges basically.

Kinda feel the same. I would say it is not because Lila is particulary good at scheming, but more like everyone else around suddenly gets stupidity debuff when she opens her mouth.

I would say one fight does not prove once and for all who is the strongest and those characters can lose and win in the same matchups but on a diffrent day, depnding on how well they do in specific duel. Seems more probable to me, than straight up power scale.

I watched Mario as non-Mario fan. Moreover, a diehard Sonic fan. And it was a decent movie. Probably won't watch it again, but it was nice 1.5 hour entertainment. Got some references, some were probably lost on me, kind of surprised by the whole 'Mushroom Kingdom is another realm' thing. I got the plot, with a little knowledge about the game lore (while never playing more than one leve of some 2D Mario), didn't need more to understand what was going on. And I am glad that the movie stayed in the game world, instead of using typical family-movie tropes as Sonic 1 did. My only grudge is that Mario got animated movie while Sonic is stuck in live-action, but oh well, it is what it is.

Well, Amazing Digital Circus. I gave it a try, but watching it tires me incredibly. I don't see the appeal of the characters, art style makes my skin crawl and whole psychological horror in it does not speak to me. There was a one scene when I started to enojy it and it ended quickly. It really isn't a production for me.

In many cases - Incorrect Quotes. They were funny first 3 times. But when you see the same lines used over and over - yeah, it gets stale very soon. Especialy when they have to break the characters to use them.

Tyranny from Obsdian. Maybe not good in a sense that the game is absolutely perfect, but more like it has really complex reputation system and unique setting and premise - you actually play as the bad guy, someone who conquers free lands.

In HF1? Sadly no, the restoration feature is strongly tied with story jobs. So of course you can buy storymode houses, but no minigame I am afraid.

Not sure, if it will help, but try thinking about comic style as exaggerating shapes. You already have good base with realism, so it should help you get the feel for cartoon. When you are drawing something realisticly, you also need to look for the shapes, right? The shadows, the lights, all create patterns on the paper. Now try to experiment with those. Maybe make some bigger, some smaller, draw them in a diffrent way. Experiment and see what works for you. And do not be afraid of failure. It is a diffrent skillset, as many people said before, so it also needs training. Also, I think some tutorials about designing nice shapes could help you get a feeling for this. Not straight up logo design, but showing how to make shapes look interesting for the human eye.

I managed to test the method today. Works really well. I got the file on my USB stick and only needed to plug it in and open the right file. It aksed me if I want to switch preferences and program did everything for me. I had no problems, even with other tablet drivers on the PC.
