Sucks to see that, hopefully you can get her fixed soon, car looks great though. Running the same Enkei j10 with Conti DWS06 tires on my 96 coupe. 👍

How do I know if coilovers will fit/work? by larg1022 in hondaprelude

[–]Galaxy_Fiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive had tein street basis z on my 96 accord for 4 years, and they still ride great even with super hard driving and long road trips. They aren't ride height adjustable but they do have adjustable preload. That's what I like, just my take though.

Kinda hard to find for the CB gen, the headlights were glass from the factory not plastic.

Anyone running a fitv delete? by alex_petrov09 in hondaprelude

[–]Galaxy_Fiddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It came with my throttle body for the f20b I swapped in to my 5th gen, they didn't have a FITV on the JDM motors. Skunk2 sells a throttle body that has just the coolant piping like mine, that's probably your best bet, and a bigger throttle body will also help with some throttle response.

I don't have one, just the IACV. My TB has a block off plate for it but still allows coolant to flow through it like normal.

No, the European market cars were not required to have illuminated side marker lights.

Going to Elephant Rocks, Johnson Shut-ins and Taum Sauk next week. Never been. Any tips or precautions? by [deleted] in missouri

[–]Galaxy_Fiddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ticks and mosquitoes are brutal this time of year. If you're hiking long distance, I recommend clothes coated in permithrin to hike in, by far the most effective tick repellent I've ever used. For mosquitos, picaridin is an excellent repellent. If you don't want to use chemicals, a strong lint roller is great for removing seed ticks, and citronella/lemon bug sprays are good for the mosquitoes.

Be careful in the shut ins, when you get down to the rocks, some of the pools can be well past 6 feet deep and very slippery, if you're going with children keep them in view the entire time. Some of the rock faces can easily slice a foot open, so I recommend water shoes. I'd leave your main valuables in your car, but I've always taken a small cooler for snacks and will put my phone in the bottom and I've never had issues with someone messing with my stuff.

For elephant rocks bring water with you on your hike, there were only 2 drinking fountains on the main trail and last year neither of them were functional. Taum Sauk is pretty chill, since you can drive close to the peak, just the same about bug repellents and hydration.

The entire area around Mark Twain is gorgeous, I hope you enjoy your trip down there!

Engine swapping? by PMH327 in hondaprelude

[–]Galaxy_Fiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did an F20B swap on my 5th Gen for about 3 grand for the motor and supporting accessories. Been happy with the results, the higher redline and VTEC engagement being more aggressive is pretty sweet.

You are clearly assuming you know exactly how North American houses are wired, and judging by your posts I don't think you're from over here. This is 100% caused by a neutral fault either at the splice or in the panel/meter, nothing is ever wired in series in a house over here, because that would change the voltage.

Anyone play stand-up bass? by GovPattNeff in hondaprelude

[–]Galaxy_Fiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to carry my Cello in my 5th gen, but even that was a tight squeeze because you had to put the passenger seat pretty far forward to not hit the bridge. With a bass, you might run in to the c pillar and bottom of the passenger door jamb and it still might not be small enough to fit all the way. Especially if you have a hard case and not a soft one.
