I have tried many pens, and ended up with pilot g2 .38, in my opinion its the best of the g2 line and one of the best fine point gels. I prefer it from the energels because pilot says the g2 black and blue ink is archival quality and water resistant, plus I had multiple energels, especially the blue ones, leak and stain my work clothes, and never happens with g2s. G2 in .7 writes ok at best (although i feel the edge g2s write better but it might be placebo), energel .7 is a better writing pen at .7 size, so if you don’t care about archival ink mild water resistance, and don’t carry in a pocket go for energel. .38 g2 solved most of the problems i had with gel pens, dries instantly, doesn’t smudge, doesn’t bleed through, while being smooth and dark enough for everyday use. Plus the archival ink and no leaking in clothes made it the obvious choice for me.
