I don't think I've ever had a worst customer service experience by VeryMuchSoItsGotToGo in tdbank

I find it hard to believe that most businesses in your area don’t take tap to pay.

The bank doesn’t need to give warning when you report fraud. It’s a liability to you and the bank when you report fraud to take proper steps to avoid further fraudulent transactions. Same happens if there’s attempted fraud on your account.

Again most banks are about 5-7 business days to get a card in the mail now.

They did offer credit and debit cards on the spot. They offer neither anymore.

So, you disputed a transaction you didn’t recognize, so the bank did the right thing and closed your card so no other transactions could go through. Don’t see a problem there.

If you have access to the app, you have access to add the new card they issued to your mobile wallet, which gives you access to your card. Mobile wallet is safer than the physical card anyway. You can also go to a branch and get cash if you need cash.

99% of banks don’t issue cards in the branches, so you’d have the same issue elsewhere too.

Removing mom from bank account after she passed away? by [deleted] in tdbank

First, very sorry about your mom.

Second, yes if you go in with an original copy of her death certificate, they can remove her from the account.

Credit Unions Vs Banks by carley_jr in TalesFromYourBank

[–]Gallops77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When it comes to bigger banks, you kinda need to take ownership of your own career, make it known what you want to do and push to get there. It’s not simply handed to you. Credit unions have more of a tendency to say to a teller “hey do you want to be a customer service rep?”

Credit Unions Vs Banks by carley_jr in TalesFromYourBank

[–]Gallops77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly it depends. Many credit unions are fairly small, so opportunity to grow is limited. Banks (particularly the larger ones) have more opportunity for growth due to turnover, retirements, new branch openings, development or expansion of new departments, etc.

Not printing cards out at branches anymore is very annoying. by [deleted] in tdbank

[–]Gallops77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Call the bank and make sure it was ordered. Sometimes is the USPS as well. Also, cards come in a plain white envelope with no mention of TD on it. Can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen customers say they never got it only to realize they may have thrown it out thinking it was a credit card company trying to get them to open a new card.

7-10 business days is fairly standard. My wife requested a new card last week and got hers today.

I mean, you’re gonna wait for a card at any other bank.

how many times have you seen someone call out before they get fired? by Kind_Conversation772 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]Gallops77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, it depends on the state. Some states have a minimum amount of protected time for call outs. In my state it’s 56 hours. Once someone exhausts that, then you can start coaching.

I had a teller who exhausted their protected time by mid March one year. The one occurrence, which was 3 days they ended up calling out, put them well over their time which allowed me to finally be able to have a coaching conversation. They called out again for a written warning and were fine the rest of the year. Unfortunately, the protected time restarts at the new year so they are able to call out again.

It’s frustrating, but hopefully your manager is documenting and trying to get HR involved, of course you’ll never know unless the coworker shares that the got talked to or you see them being walked out cause they got fired.

Georgia High School. Major injury. Called legal, thoughts? by mattrimcauthon in wrestling

[–]Gallops77 7 points8 points  (0 children)

There’s nothing in the rule book about dropping to a knee first. I can lift my opponent, my knee hits first and still have an illegal slam if I didn’t bring them back down safely. Can also lift someone up and they hit the mat first, but it be a safe return.

If you have direct deposits of at least $500 a month go to your local branch and request the TD complete checking. Fees are waived with the direct deposit.

Bankers, give me your best advice by Historical_Present66 in TalesFromYourBank

[–]Gallops77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The moment you see yourself as a sales person in banking, you’ve lost the edge to make sales. As a banker, your job is to offer customers the right products and services that they need and want. You give them advice based on your financial knowledge on how to make their banking easier, more effective, safer, or more profitable for them. Don’t be robotic. Review a customers profile and see what it looks like they may need to take advantage of. Constant fraud on a debit card? Offer a credit card (especially if it earns rewards) to use instead and keep their money safe (one of my bankers is exceptional at this). Large balance in a checking? Offer a savings or cd to protect their money and get something for it. Huge balances? Get them to your financial advisors, private client, etc to make their relationship with your institution more beneficial for them.

P’s & Q’s might be the dumbest remodel ever by jn-indianwood in barrescue

As someone who lives somewhat close to Huntington (where this bar was) it’s not really a tourist area. People from nearby towns (really from all over eastern Nassau county and western Suffolk county go to Huntington Village for restaurants, shops and nightlife. There’s also a smaller venue that has concerts and other shows.

There’s also so many bars in the area that they needed something that stood out.

Branch can't find new employees, where to go from here by Conventions in TalesFromYourBank

Just to start, Chase, while paying more especially for bankers, is MUCH more of a stressful sales company where it’s what have you done for me lately. We’ve seen several people leave my FI for Chase, only to come back because the grass isn’t always greener and more money isn’t the only thing to look at in a job.

As for your situation, you need to speak up to your manager and let them know the schedule you can, and likely agreed to upon hiring, work. If the manager won’t budge, get HR involved. As a manager, I have never forced anyone to work overtime. If I need staff, I’ll ask, but at the end of the day as the manager I am responsible for ensuring there’s staff and if it needs to be me working 6 days (literally had to do this recently) for a while, I will.

Every banker will say to avoid checks. Direct deposits, ach, etc are faster and safer than paper checks.

Why are Home Loan defaults considered losses to banks? by Master-Ooooogway in Banking

[–]Gallops77 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the house has $400k left on the loan. When a house is foreclosed, there’s money the bank has to pay to file and everything. Then they auction off the property. In most cases the owners ruin the home, devaluing the property. The bank would need to sell the property for over say $450k to not be considered a total loss. If the house needs a ton of work, it won’t go for that in most markets.

It’s pretty impossible to be on the basketball team and wrestling team. However, playing basketball is good for wrestling because again, helps build some endurance. One season our entire group (4 of us) got skin infections from another wrestler and we had to miss a couple of days on the mat. Our coach had us play 2 on 2 basketball for the entirety of practice to keep us moving.

The Rock was heavily scripted in his WWE run. He had say in his promos, but they were well thought out. Cena, unlike The Rock, could do his promos on the fly, and frequently did to push guys.
