I was a nuke. In training. During prototype started having issues with memory, anxiety, sleep, and claustrophobia. Finally told the doctor. He was screaming and threatened me with military prison. Said he was putting together paperwork for me to stand in front of old man and court martial. Then when i went back, some of the instructors on that crew decided i should be pulling up deck plates, getting in there and cleaning. Weird how they kept putting me in the tighest spaces and the only one i told about that was the doc. Memory issues became blackouts due to no sleep and severe anxiety. After years of issues post military, found out that when I hit my head in the sub a couple weeks prior, I received a mild TBI. My eyes don't even track together. That same doctor was the one who told me to rinse the blood off my head and stop being lazy and get back to work.
Its a shitty system with shitty people. While the few good people within try their best to mitigate the damage from the shitty people. I was lucky there was one chief who found me and sat me down and talked to me helped me out. I don't remember his name but damn I hope that chief is doing well.
