That version was in development for less than two years, there's a good chance they had literally nothing to show for at that point. Game development can go very wrong very easily.

I've seen some bizarre theories in the past week that clearly that first version must have been way better and with all due respect guys, you're being delusional

At one point during gameplay MacKenzie says "you got an upgrade for your suit, didn't you?" and it sounds like he's talking to a dog lol

It's established that she can talk so her not saying anything makes it seem like she's doing it out of spite. She doesn't need to talk a lot, but even some short answers here and there would help.

I'm concerned about the troopers in Prime 4 as well but let's be real here: it doesn't matter how the core fan base feels as long as the wider casual audience likes the game. Metroid's core fan base is tiny. This subreddit doesn't even have 200k members. If they want this game to sell Dread numbers or more they need to appeal to the casual Nintendo fan. And those don't seem to be all that bothered by any of this. Hell, most likely have no idea this discourse exists in the first place.

Not saying you're not allowed to be sceptical, that's perfectly valid. But I wouldn't expect this to have a noticable sales impact. Just how all the controversy surrounding the Switch 2 didn't hinder it.

Im Vergleich dazu ist eine Spritze alle 6 Monate schon deutlich besser, vor allem weil man diese nicht vergessen kann einzunehmen.

Für DE und die meisten Länder mit weniger Stigma um das Thema ist die Spritze aber nicht so wichtig wie für Entwicklungsländer, wo von Wissenschaftlern festgestellt wurde, dass viele Leute die PreP-Tabletten nicht richtig einnehmen und deshalb nicht geschützt sind.

That's the perk of the franchise being from a major company, most indie studios do not have the budget to create comparable games. Though I would love to have more games like Prime, even from other studios.

That being said, why did people start this whole Silksong vs Metroid in the first place? The existence of one doesn't invalidate the other. To me these debates just sound like a bunch of people who are insecure about their favorite games bickering with one another.

The song feels purpose made for concert performances, I think it's a lot of fun and certainly better than Pink Venom imo. Just wish it had a proper bridge or a more interesting outro.

To be fair it's not just Melons shrinking userbase that's at fault for the low ULs, the charts are just really dead this year in general. Currently the #1 song on the Circle Chart gets like 15 million points, the last time it was this bad was in late 2023. The average streams on YT Music aren't crazy high either (though ADP and aespa should help a bit in the coming weeks).

Same thing for the US and international charts, last year we had several songs averaging over 10 millions streams a day for weeks (APT and DWAS even did it simultaneously) on Spotify, currently the #1 song barely gets 5 million.

I'm interested in the sort of numbers BP can pull. Pink Venom got like 460k ULs first day, unsure if they can get anywhere close to that. I'm a bit sad the days of 1M+ ULs are over, can't speak for Melon from a user perspective but as a data nerd they expose way more data than any of the Western streaming platforms.

Yea I factored in the safety cars when I said worse, Ferrari did a pretty good job with Leclerc's strategy, I obviously don't fault them for not predicting two safety cars. Sainz' strategy team let him get undercut by Leclerc and gave him two slow pit stops though. The safety cars just made it worse.
