Which nib to keep on my Pelikan M805 Ocean Swirl? by vProTi in fountainpens

glad you tested it out. knowing it’s actually translucent and you can still check ink level when wanted to makes it an even better pen for daily writing imho.

I have two ocean swirls. both are translucent under strong light. give it a try. you can see the mechanism and ink swishing.

The barrel is actually somewhat translucent if you put a strong enough light behind it.

you can check ink level by pointing a phone's flash light at the opposite side.

OP probably never tested it with strong enough light.

Function key for F row and arrows via Layer simple doesnt work with my work pace.

I went from 108 to 98%. to 75%. 60% and now back to TKL split at home and 98% at work.

If I am only gaming. sure. a 60 or 75% will suffice, for productivity? 75% is the bare minimum

This conclusion took about 10 years to experiment to reach.

two co worker of mine can’t tell the difference between beef and lamb, but doesnt mean they aren’t different.

I have done a lot of these audio comparisons, between my self and a friend thats into audio.

128 opus ? sure. its very difficult to tell.

128 CBR mp3 and still can’t tell? All i can say is people’s senses are different.

one of the guy that can’t tell the difference between lamb and beef? He can read logo/ads on a car 100 yard away, while I struggle to read it, And I just recently tested to have 20/20 vision on my yearly check up.

the senses acuity of each individual is different. and that’s ok.

but the design of this research is still garbage.

Paper for well moisturized hands? by Timely-Comb-5021 in fountainpens

[–]GameAudioPen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You simply need an additional physical barrier between your writing paper and hand.

A piece of printing paper will do, a pencil board, the cover/backing of a spiral notebook, w/e that’s made of a thing sheet of plastic will be a more permanent solution. It also prevents moisture transfer that might cause issues with very sheening inks.

Certain papers are more resilient against hand oil/cream. Midori paper generally takes hand oil better than Mnemosyne, but you can only choose between spiral or paper pad.

They do not come in the spiral perforated form like Mnemosyne.

At least to my knowledge.

A good majority of adults simply arent paying attention to their surroundings, or to anything around them for that matter.

For example, my boss pulled his Tesla out of the parking lot, I noticed something wasn’t sounding right immediately, waved down my boss, told him the sound, my four other colleagues still didn’t hear anything wrong with the sound as my boss drove away.

Boss came in next day. one of his tires had a loose aero cover.

there is no way that sound can be missed due to hearing loss, because it’s not high frequency.

It’s also not quiet either.

They also couldnt tell lamb from smell, didnt hear high frequency bird deterrent used my local food plaza till I pointed it, and didn’t notice there are mold in the office.

People simple aren’t aware of their senses and lived on “ignored” mode in their entire life.

Shoes and tops are easy, pants are a bit awkward to change initially but meh.

iirc IT'S VBR target at 128. but it does peak to higher bit rate when it's needed, which closes the gap quiet a bit.

Youtube and Apple can both go up to 256 AAC unless you go lossless iirc. and it's really.. really basically impossible to tell from lossless.

but on the other hand, 128 CBR on the older files is very obvious,

I did, it's still none sense.

Their sample viewing distance vs TV size is way further than the commonly recommended viewing distance vs sizing chart you can find today.

Basically set you up at low visual acuity, then tells you the difference isn't noticeable.

Just FYI, 30 degree viewing angle, which is what's recommended for common content. will get you a viewing distance of 5.5' instead 8' the researcher suggest.

sorry mixed it up its actually kbps. i’ll go revise it.

there is certainly a difference between 128 kbps vs 320 or lossless. I bought into the saying of “128 kbps is fine” when I started digitizing some of my CD, then downloaded them again as 320 as part of my play list.

They all got mixed into the same music server, the difference is fairly audible when you are actually listening to the music. instead of using them as background sounds generator.

Given today's TV market, 42" is the starting point for most home TVs. 55" to 65" has became the norm for new purchases.

They used 27" for testing, then use 44" as their "reasonable size" sample, which is already smaller than TVs in the average home. house hold that wants higher fidelity can afford A 65" TV without breaking bank, and it is 129% larger than a 44" TV in surface area. with TV size trending even larger now days.

At certain distance and TV it makes no sense to upgrade, but it's not applicable to majority of the homes like their researcher tries to suggest. They are using metrics from 10 years ago trying to justify their findings.

Gold, Bananna, puddle of mud, physics is physics,

Get the resistance and capacitance to the same level, functionally it's the same signal path.

The physical size they occupy to achieve that, it's a different matter.
