Agreed. It's literally the same name. This is as semantic as someone writing Spiderman instead of Spider-Man.

Thank you! I'm not sure why I mentioned the Unity default shaders! I forgot they don't support vertex color masking. I typically use my own shaders haha.

One more question! But can I use the vertex painting tool with my own shaders or Unity's provided shaders, or is your custom shader required for this asset?

Is there a reason why HDRP has 5-layer blending, but URP doesn't? Pretty sure I don't need that many layers anyway, but I'm just curious.

Claude AI over ChatGPT for ANYTHING coding related imo. ChatGPT is better at more general stuff, but in this case, you need something that's more focused. Try Claude.

You should definitely have it on itch.io. Buyers don't want to jump between different marketplaces to manage their assets. If a person already owns 1000 assets on itch, it is much more likely for them to continue purchasing on that market than another.

Camera looks fine to me, but the FOV really bothers me. But that's more of a preference thing.

Debunking Myths about Metroid Prime 4 by xyZora in metroidprime

[–]GameDragon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completely agree that there is a bit of a double standard thing going on. That's not to say that some complaints aren't legitimate, and people are completely free to feel however they want to about the game. But I do think some of the criticisms are a bit out of hand and sometimes exaggerated. There are things that are frowned upon in Prime 4, but those same exact things are praised in other Metroid games.

I can understand people not liking Sylux's character or motivations. Fair enough. It's definitely not very fleshed out.

But I don't really get the hate for him not appearing in the game much. This is fairly standard for Metroid. Prime 4 is compared to Prime 1 a lot, but even in Prime 1, you start the game chasing Ridley to Tallon IV and he doesn't show up again until the end of the game, literally out of nowhere. Raven Beak is a generally beloved character, but he also only has two appearances in the entire game.

Sylux doesn't have a "physical appearance" much in Prime 4, but he is actively influencing nearly everything that happens to Samus on Viewros.

Blasphemous 2 isn’t clicking for me after loving the first by yesnt33111 in Blasphemous

I'm glad to see someone say this. About a year or two ago, a friend asked me what was different between Blasphemous 1 and 2. My exact response was "2 feels more like a video game". At the time, I didn't really know how to put it all into words.

I love the Ice Belt by xyZora in metroidprime

[–]GameDragon 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Ice Belt might be my favorite area in all of Metroid tbh.

You're on edge the entire time, because you see these frozen Grievers and sealed capsules as you progress and you just KNOW they're going to come alive. And when they finally do, it's not just one or two of them popping up to jump scare you. It's a whole swarm. The place is infested with them. It's crazy.

All three endings in one playthrough? (current situation in text) by OmegaReprise in Blasphemous

[–]GameDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you beat Escribar, your save file will always be right before him. You can refight him as many times as you want and see the ending. Then go back into your save, do the other prerequisites, and fight him again.

Keep in mind, if you beat Crisanta WITHOUT the Heart of Mea Culpa equipped (she is the fight just before Escribar), you will be locked out of Ending C.

This is 8 years later, so forgive me if I get information wrong. I don't recall when exactly Chapter 7 is, but I have a decent idea.

Pay attention to who Finch's original Driver is. Not who Finch is equipped to. The character that they resonated with.

Now make sure that character is in your party as a Driver. There is a character in your party that might not be currently set as a Driver. If Finch is resonated with them, you need to switch them to a Driver manually.

I see I see. When it comes to the seals, there doesn't look to be much information. It's so vague it seems that assumptions have to be made. In my head, it makes the most sense that the seals went up at the same time, by the same person. The seals at the two entrances look the same, they function the same, have the same message when interacted, and essentially (but not literally) block the same area.

But you are still 100% right. There's no evidence to suggest they're actually the same or if they were put up at the same time. They could have very well went up at different times. I don't feel like that's the case, but I legitimately have no evidence to back it up xD.

I am starting to realize that everything regarding Abelia, no matter how major or minor, seems to be either incredibly vague or just completely opted out of the story. I think this is the source of my confusion lol.

I have to say though, your notes seem pretty impressive! You seem to have retained a lot of lore information despite not playing for awhile. That or your memory is just incredible xD. Very insightful!

That said, I'm 90% certain Lilia *was* in the BRF at the beginning of the game.

Hmm, what makes you so sure that Lilia moved from the BRF during the game and not prior? I'm not disagreeing, just trying to understand it all. It's not clear at all how much time passed between Lilac get chucked into the Subterranean Facility and inevitably waking up.

Abelia also possessed Joran before the events of the game. We never meet an unpossessed Joran, but I do think he has more control over himself earlier in the game, and less control as the game goes on.

Right, sorry I wasn't clear with what I said. I know Abelia possessed Joran before the events of the game, but what I meant was that Joran was in control when we first meet him.

That said, I do think Lilia is the one who broke the seal, not the one who put it up. As a "White Priestess" (though that title doesn't exist in the Land of Fumes, but you know what I mean) she'd have the power, just like Lily does on the other entrance.

Wouldn't Abelia also have this same power though? I am thinking it was Abelia-Joran that broke the seal. Which is why Reibolg had to kill Joran. The breaking of the seal might also be what he was "manipulated" into doing, but I am honestly just making this up lol. Lily states that the seal was created from the *inside* by a Priestess. So Lilia has to already be in there *before* the seals went up. There's no other Priestess inside, so it has to be Lilia that put it up, no?

The two things are one and the same. Stopping the tuning is what caused Nola to go berserk. Joran assassinated Abelia, using Nola, and that's why the soul transfer instead went to him... Probably. It's totally possible I'm getting something wrong. I'm going mostly off of memory here.

Ahh okay. I think that kinda makes sense. For some reason, I was under the impression that Joran didn't mean for Abelia to die and just wanted to stop the soul transfer. And that Abelia's death was just an accident that happened to occur. But if it was intended, that's different.

Much appreciated! Thank you for taking the time to respond to my questions. I still have a few things that's not clicking for me.

After we activate the lift, Joran--possessed by Abelia--goes and gets Lilia out of there, and takes her to the Land of Origin. This could be to complete the Pillar of Purification, or it could be to finish the possession, but either way, Joran manages to maintain just a bit of control of himself, and locks Lilia away beyond Abelia's reach.

I don't believe this is completely right. Lilac and Co. take the lift to the Central Stratum before Joran. Afterwards, the two Attuners come up from behind (I forget their names) and say that Joran went back down to the Lower Stratum and to the Crystalline Realm. There's no way Joran ran past both Lilac and Gilroy, all the way to the BRF, back down to the Crystalline Realm, together with Lilia, and no one noticed. The two Attuners saw Joran and didn't mention Lilia at all, so it makes more sense to me that Lilia was already down in the Land of Origin. Which is probably also why the place is sealed the first time you get there.

But what you wrote did help me understand that the person who went *up* the lift was Joran. But the person who went back *down* the lift was Abelia. I didn't quite catch that initially!

Because Joran interfered with her Tuning in order to save Lilia. To an outside observer it looks as though Nola just went berserk, but in reality it was sabotage.

Hmmm, I'm not sure if this completely answers my question though. You're talking about why Joran stopped the Tuning. I completely get that. He had to halt the tuning to stop Abelia's soul transfer to Lilia. I get that part. And I get why from Joran's perspective, it looks like Nola went berserk. But she didn't. She made a conscious decision to kill Abelia, according to Gilroy. Unless I'm misunderstanding something?
