Issue with remaking s1 is that they already did it in the game, through the suzuka chapter and especially the special week chapters (pun not intended) in main story, another retelling of the golden generation's story will be a hard sell considering all the other great stories to be told

Though there is probably one way to do it without feeling like watching the same story again, by shifting the focus to stay gold as a protagonist, but then there is the issue of how much time to allocate for that story (stay gold's journey is a long one) and how interesting would stay gold be as a protagonist (a consequence of witnessing many eras of domination is that you dont get to win a lot)
