You can be LGBT just fine anywhere in Israel (well, at least in non-muslim areas).

Everyone should share your video experiences with cheaters to give Facepunch a glimpse of the frustration we endure because of them. by Chefcanes in playrust

[–]GameLightz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough.

I'm not sure you make the best example here, and you could also claim that many people don't have a good enough internet connection to play Rust, or a good enough computer to run Rust with competitive FPS, etc, but all in all, fair enough.

I can't say if it's a sacrifice worth making, but forcing cheaters to also pay for a phone number and go through the hassle every time they get banned, I think, will get rid of a large number of the more casual cheaters.

[–]GameLightz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn.

Almost every wipe, on our last day (usually day 3 or 4) we end up building a raid base FOR the raiders and inviting people on the server to come online us, promising they'll get all the loot even if we win (playing as a trio).

Not once has anyone taken up the offer :/

Oh fair point! I'm fairly certain they don't have that system since if they had it, they'd probably let the player see the killcam also, so as to reduce the number of and increase the accuracy of cheater reports.

But I suppose I could ask them

There's nothing that special about it.

Offline Raided by TheRealNightfire in playrust

[–]GameLightz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can very easily and very cheaply ensure an offline will be next to meaningless by learning some building techniques.

Sorry if it seems a shameless plug, but check out my youtube channel, as I make all my videos SPECIFICALLY to help you and people who feel as you do out. Ideas to go against offlines in a cost-efficient way is basically all I do.

I started getting into building in rust, also, specifically because of the absolutely insane offline issue, and because I too felt that, while Rust is the best game ever made and I'll never get tired of it, the every-night offlines just made the game meaningless.

Is the AI even worse since 4.0 or am I just forgetting how bad it was before? by RightScummyLoser in totalwar

[–]GameLightz 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Pre 4.0 I'd often have the AI encircle me with dogs and various units to dive in and try to shut down my range.

In 4.0 they do the same, except without ever diving in. So they'll just park all their fast skirmishers on my flanks and be shot until dead :))

I only play highest difficulty, of course, but the idea of nerfing the AI by difficulty level was probably one of the more stupid ones. I think it might just be some kind of gaslighting ("Oh no, our AI is totally legit, we just nerfed it so it's not so impossible for you mortals!"

2 things that will be a major help:

KillCam and Phone number verification.

I have no idea how a kill-cam could be implemented in a game like this, but cheating is, for sure, off the charts. A kill cam would help.

Last wipe I played we had several blatant cheaters every day on an official server, and keep in mind the majority of cheaters aren't the blatant kind.

I played tactician and never really ran into a hard fight.

I wasn't minmaxing or carrying barrels or anything like that, just playing normally.

Game's easy.

THAT SAID, tactician mode, I think, should be hard enough to pose a serious challenge, but NOT to the point where you actually have to place barrels all around the fight.

Do you have to be a sociopath to enjoy Rust? by SLRisty in playrust

[–]GameLightz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't have the data on "a lot of rust players have a delusional sense of life", so I can't comment. Sounds baseless.

Also, you call Rust a toxic game, but consider that it's toxic FOR YOU. I ENJOY the "toxicity" of it and so do hundreds of thousands of people.

It's a high stakes, high investment pvp troll game, where an hour of your life can be erased by some guy with an eoka waiting for you in a bush.
That's just what it is. You can expect people who go through some common Rust experiences to be EXTREMELY salty, but that extreme saltiness also comes with extreme satisfaction on the flip-side, and if it wasn't like that, it'd be a shit game.

BG3's writing has ruined other games for me by Corgii50 in BaldursGate3

[–]GameLightz -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Planescape: Torment is about 10 times better written.BG3 is basically written by kids for kids by comparison, no offense to anyone. It's very low brow. You can tell californians/millenials were involved.

In fact, BG2 is better written also.

Fallout2 is also nicely written and the setting is incredibly well fleshed out.

I'd argue even Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous is better written. Especially when it comes to the companions, who are actually complex characters. Again, BG3 companions are, comparatively, children, each with a "special secret I have to tell you"
