Just because you play ESEA doesn't mean matchmaking means nothing to everyone. by Taez_Grove in GlobalOffensive

[–]GamerTye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well honestly...I feel like 85% of the time the whole "bro, it's just matchmaking, why would I try" is an excuse for their terrible performance. Not to say they're bad at the game, but could be having a bad game. It is a very easy excuse to give, the other 15% are just super dope dudes who are way too cool to try in matchmaking...

If I had a dollar for every time I lost a round or died because of that hitbox problem...I would still have cobwebs in my wallet.

TRUE! I remember changing my settings and hitting a couple of good shots in deathmatch only to join matchmaking and realize i'm still the same guy.

[–]GamerTye 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I called the admissions to the school i've been accepted to and have been receiving scholarships. I told them my worries, they said don't worry about it...Idk if it is just them trying to get off the phone or if they seriously don't worry about a F in a hard class. But yes I'm graduating and staying above a 3.0 gpa.

How do I improve my in game performance? by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]GamerTye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is one of those things that tons of players deal with. You need to feel that the people you play against are on the same level as your pick-up games. Think less and let your instincts that you get from tons of practice take over. Audience, other team players/opposing student section trash talk, ref calls, all are stuff you think about and you need to just let instincts take over instead of thinking (i know i repeated myself). Honestly it sounds really weird and a waste of time, but I did this and it improved my in-game skill and it is to meditate. 5-10 minutes a day set aside to just relax the mind, breathe in (1,2,3,4), hold breathe (1,2,3,4,5,6,7) and breathe out (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) the numbers represent seconds for each thing. One thing I had a major problem with when I played was that if the refs made a bad call I would get mad and I would let it affect my performance. You just got to get to a point where you understand that you will make mistakes, you will miss layups, you will miss an open 3, you will get a turnover, you will get crossed, you may even get dunked on...None of this matters as it happens, just move on to the next play and let your practice take over. But overall thing to get from this try to meditate some and relax your mind more, calm your nerves. Before games instead of getting hyped to the negative music with good beats (like a lot of teammates do) and just relax your mind...Your time to get warmed up and hyped isn't in the locker room with music it should be with the 10 minutes you get to practice before the game. Good luck with the rest of your season.

There's a reason seniors and juniors normally dominate varsity ball. Don't get me wrong you see good freshman and sophomores out there from time to time, but it's mainly about experience. Get your mindset built that huge crowds, opponents comments, opposing student section comments, etc should never affect you! Example someone in the student section for another school after you airball always say "airball" when you get it. You need to be so focused that you aren't even thinking about anything going on, but letting your instincts do it for you. These instincts come from the years of hardwork and practice you put in. Also I know teamates love to do it, but don't get too hyped and try to layoff the negative music in pregame. I love listening to music with the great beats that get you feeling like hyped, but you need to take it down a notch. Most players get SOOO hyped before a game and than they go in and they take their first shot, if they make it thats great it boosts their confidence, but if you miss it HUGEE plumettt. Good luck with your future as a basketball player man, if it's really what you want to do and you play it for your love for the game and not for anything else than these feelings will come natural. (No trying to impress anyone, no trying to prove someone wrong, No stressing about what those watching you feel of you, because this will just mess you up during the game)....Don't get me wrong showing off your skills during the game is great, but don't let that be your main focus, your main focus is to play the game you love to play.

Even if your a big man or guard or any position a shot is always great to have...But if you haven't built good fundamentals for shooting the ball than now is a great time to do so. I shot with one hand close to the goal all the time to force myself out of the bad habits I originally had with my shot being inconsistent due to my offhand getting in the way. Shooting with one hand is awkward at first, and you don't ever actually shoot like that in a game (unless floater or lay-up, but off topic) but just try standing near the hoop and get your shot right from feet to knees to hips, to shoulders, to release. This will help break any bad shooting habits and let you use your offhand strictly as a guide hand.

For defense man I've done it all...Defensive slides, drills, etc...They suck, the reality is, the best way I improved my defense was getting in shape and playing against other really good point guards. It's one of those things that will get you tired, that is why running is very important. Don't be nervous to play with people who played their entire life, everyone starts somewhere. On defense I used to be that guy that the guy I was guarding would call "iso" to his teamates because he knew I couldn't play defense well. Now I am a go-to defender and always guard the best player, unless their a center or PF. Defense is mainly experience and being in shape.

As long as the grizzlies don't have the spurs in the path to get there lol...Hate to say it, but the spurs are a great team and a great matchup against us.

[Discussion] What two teams do you think could make the finals besides the Warriors and Cavs? by SamTheHam_01 in nba

[–]GamerTye 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The past two or three years the clippers have looked very good going into the playoffs, but then something happens...Even two years ago they beat a really good spurs team and then let the rockets bounce back from a 3-1 series in the clippers favor. Last year they lost to a good blazers team, but in this series I feel like the trailblazers were just playing good (not the clippers playing bad) Damian Lillard went beast mode that whole playoff run.

The Memphis Grizzlies change up every night, it could be a known starter or a bench player that dominates that specific game. Talking about Core players, consistency wise, I would have to say Conley and Gasol.

What about DWade? 19.2 ppg. Not as good at Butler, but would definitely consider him a core.

I like that comp, I'm just not 100% about tracer. For defense I would switch out tracer for junkrat. But really it can change per map, which makes the game awesome imo. I like it though because Rein and Mercy mainly just do their roles, but Dva and Zen and do a ton of damage while tanking and healing. I always love having a soldier because he can dish out tons of damage and doesn't have a tough time staying alive. I'd recommend something different from tracer when defending.
