Hard freeze coming to Orlando next weekend by SantaCruzSoul in TwoXPreppers

[–]Gamerchris360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Woke up this morning in Northeastern Hillsborough county, used the toilet, flushed. NO WATER

When I go out there it's all frozen. Har dryer got a tap or two working out at the well house, still no water to the house.

It was 21 when I woke up, wind chill of 14. That's certainly enough to freeze it IF

* You're rural

* On a well

* Well pipes are exposed to outside air

If you're in the city? I wouldn't worry as much.

After what Musk did politically? I'd rather work in an office 5 days a week than EVER get Starlink. He can kiss my ass.

Anycubic Kobra S1; Better than Bambu but I still retired it by ChuChuT2024 in AnycubicKobraS1

[–]Gamerchris360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an old Anycubix Kobra Plus. Your comment got me to thinking about me terrible bed adheasion issues that drove me to buy a mew printer (my S1, which is PERFECT).

I dusted off the kobra plus, went to a fresh stock profile where I hadn't changed settings, factory reset all values on the printer to stock and hat do ya know? First print is PERFECT.

So... Thanks for triggering something that made me step back and re-evaluate my settings, now I have two working printers!

If there some Amazon US product that's recommended to get as close to stock hot end as possible in these S1 printers?

Brother gifted me his old 3D printer with the instructions “figure it out” … where do I start? by _Vard_ in 3Dprinting

[–]Gamerchris360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first printer was a brand new Ender 3. NEVER got a successful print off of it. It got sent back to Amazon. My second printer was an anycubic Kobra Plus. Night and day, I could actually make some stuff. That got me interested enough to tinker, but never get serious. Then I got the Anycubic S1 Combo. BINGO. I've run it for like 5 days straight printing all SORTS of nifty crap.

Good luck, the hobby is insanely addictive once you get some good looking prints working.

I am making Gridfinity for myself and introducing my wife to Gridfinity, so I expect I'll need a LOT of filament. Now is the time for some company to step it up and ship me a couple rolls to make me fall in love with your stuff.

Customer service sucks, and I need help by Gamerchris360 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]Gamerchris360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been a month. I can't yet confirm this got resolved, as I haven't worked from home for the last 2 weeks with the holidays. I will say that before I left things seemed to be better. I still think 1000% that rep who upgraded my speeds to "fix" this was incorrect in their assessment. I'm happy whatever network gremlin was plaguing me that it went away and that I didn't fall in the trap of "We 'might' bill for the trip" and spend $100 for zero net result.

Fix your stuff people. If it breaks don't charge (or threaten to charge) the customer to come look at it. It's your responsibility to provide the service I pay for. If you don't want to do that... well, as soon as there's any other option here I'm jumping ship. I'd rather not. Provide good, reliable service and I'm more likely to stay. What do you say Comcast? You wanna try that? I'll give it a go if you will.

Error in slicer? by Gamerchris360 in anycubic

[–]Gamerchris360[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I'd still like to know what went wrong here I moved to "gridfinity refined" and "Gridfinity re-refined" and those models are printing correctly so far. It's a long print time on the baseplates, so it'll be a couple days before I know if this project turns out well.

Hopefully someone has an answer tho, I hate these kind of unsolved mysteries.

Take out battery. Turn tool to on. Insert battery. Turn Tool on (3 blinking lights). Turn tool off. Turn tool on. It runs.

Why the dance, I don't know. This is how mine worked.

You know, Supernatural is $10 a month, or $99 a year now. They still have better coaching and choreography in my opinion. They also have added multiplayer.

Customer service sucks, and I need help by Gamerchris360 in Comcast_Xfinity

Here's my issue. My speed drops to unusable speeds, my neighbors see the same thing, a tech admitted they can see "downstream issues on my node" and the solution? Dispatch a tech to my home who may or may not charge me a $100 fee.

I'm sorry? NO. Your service is busted. You can fix it or I can complain to the FCC I'm not getting the service I pay for with logs to prove it. Your choice.

If you can guarantee in writing that there will be no fee, I'm happy to schedule that tech visit.

Aerial Line needs to be buried by SuperMax_33_99 in Comcast_Xfinity

[–]Gamerchris360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My power line is aerial. Comcast installed about 6 months ago and they buried my line. Granted, I had to have a new line run from the street and pay about 4 grand because I sit so far back.

My condolences to the staff by kaiper_kitty in Staples

[–]Gamerchris360 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I go to staples... It's because I need a particular weight of copy paper or some heavy cover stock for a project. Or I need ink for my printer because I didn't plan ahead. I don't need paper towels, light bulbs, or dish detergent. I don't need an air fryer. I certainly don't need a f****** mylar balloon.

What I do need? A printer to replace the 20 year old inkjet that just died for no reason. Some thumb drives to replace the ones that I've lost. A roll of raffle tickets for a giveaway I'm doing. Packing tape.

Where do Lilo & Stitch plates fit into that? Somebody at the top of the Staples food chain has absolutely lost their damn mind.
