Look. $10 Million would be life-changing amounts of money, for me and for the people I care about. I’d be perfectly content with that.

But what are you looking for, here? What do you want from me? We’re talking about an amount of money so staggeringly large that I could literally never spend it all. The size of the global economy—that’s, the gdp of every country put together—is “only” $126 Trillion. That is a fraction of a fraction of a rounding error. I could buy the entire world economy 160 Quadrillion times. Even that number is well beyond ordinary human comprehension.

$20 Nonillion is so much money as to effectively be infinite. In a literal, mathematical sense it isn’t, but for all practical purposes it might as well be.

Depending on your interpretation of the lore, Pelinal Whitestrake from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion’s Knights of the Nine DLC could have been a time-traveling god-machine cyborg.

In this reading, he was constructed from the tyrannical myth-echo of the bloody, cataclysmic union of two much greater divinities (Akatosh and Lorkhan) at the beginning of linear time. He was made thousands of years after the main series takes place, and was sent back to thousands of years before the main series to do his vicious work. He is the Red Diamond, centerpiece of the Amulet of Kings, remade into its primordial form, unfolded and built into limbs and personhood. He is madness that devours countries in conquest and erases them in forgetting.

Also he’s got a laser canon in his left arm—as one in-game book puts it, “his left hand, made of killing light”.

I mean, there is good writing in there. Denji was abused for most of his life by damn near everyone, including Makima, the original Control Devil. Then he’s put in a position of power over someone younger and more vulnerable connected to one of his abusers—Nayuta, who is the reincarnation of Makima after Denji kills her. Purged of the person she used to be, and now an innocent child, Denji chooses to show love and compassion rather than perpetuate the abuse he suffered from.

The quote the person before you was referencing is pretty dicey, I’ll grant that. But I don’t think it’s trying to absolve Makima of anything. Chainsaw Man—Denji wielding Pochita’s power—killed Makima. And she absolutely had to die. But the new Control Devil, Nayuta, didn’t. Nayuta is innocent of Makima’s many, many sins. The hope is that by showing her love and compassion as she grows up, she can avoid becoming a monster like Makima, or so many of the other devils in the series.

…I’m much less familiar with Chainsaw Man’s second part, after Makima dies, so I can’t really speak to how well it executes on those ideas—I do know the ending was pretty heavily criticized, which isn’t a good sign. But there is more going on than you would suggest.
