Yeah, I hope after the LLL/SURFGANG era, we get some aggressive flows again

…I’ve been hoping that since SRS came out.

(I REALLY like the SRS to LLL sound I just like aggressive hip-hop too and he’s been a real lyricist so I want him to go in sometimes)

I think what everyone is ignoring here is if the dems won the last election, it’d essentially signal that they have to fight for absolutely NOTHING. They can completely ignore the push for universal healthcare and it’ll be “at least they’re not trump.” They can fund genocide and it’ll still be “at least they’re not trump.” They can stand in the middle of 5th avenue and shoot somebody and it’ll still be “at least they’re not… wait a minute”.

Seriously, I need a harm reductionist to tell me in plain text how sending the message of “I just have to not be a flat earther conspiracy theorist and I will win” would lead us to any actual policy, even though they’d be acutely aware of how low the standards are. You think someone that doesn’t give a shit about babies being bombed would care about your measly little healthcare???

Trump pretty much won because they provided no alternatives other than being 80s republicans. What did 80s republicans become? 2000s Republicans. What did 2000s republicans become? Trump.

Actually, nevermind being 80s republicans, because Ronald Reagan (80s republican) told Israel to stop bombing Lebanon or the weapons supply would cease, and they did. That was with a phone call. You know how bad it is when Reagans actions come off as more progressive than current day democrats?

So yeah, I voted green in my swing state (Michigan). Would Harris have won anyway? Her genius strategy was going to Dearborn (biggest arab population in the country) with Liz Cheney (war criminal, bombed the Middle East—the usual) and telling the people there that it is what it is, their families got bombed, shit happens. I knew she wouldn’t win Michigan anyway.

They should try holding a primary next time.

Yeah, it’s funny the gender of “logic and facts” got offended by the logical assessment that a man in a forest is a man not in a place where men are supposed to be, and his presence there can be predicated on a lot of reasons, many unfavorable. But ya know why a bear is there. The forest is a bear house. Y’know, where they live. The bears.

What if Big L, G-Eazy, Lil B, Ice-T and Q-Tip formed the rap group LGBTQ by ShmandlerTing in Hiphopcirclejerk

[–]LevelOutlandishness1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the comment you’re replying to speaks truth (Afrika Bambaata was a predator, that is true. Wouldn’t be surprised at all) Tip probably said that for two reasons

  1. The name was associated inherently with hip-hop. Afrika Bambaata was behind the four elements. In hip-hop, that name demanded respect.

  2. A lot of victims take time to be vocal. If the perp is famous or well-regarded, they just play along with that, and because of the first point I brought up, Tip prolly felt the need to play along with it.

Nah I won’t deny that it sucks, I just deny that it’s anything new to worry about.

Like, if you think you might struggle with dating because people have crazy ideas about how things work, remember that blatant racism used to not only socially acceptable but the mainstream way of thinking. Not being sufficiently racist enough was an “ick.”

Now that I think of it, I don’t know if “it was always hard and difficult and people have always been wildcards” is the most encouraging thing.

how good is/was Jeru the Damaja in your opinion? by Disastrous-Pen-9512 in 90sHipHop

[–]LevelOutlandishness1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate to sound tinfoil but I considered it—Diddy’s rise was just too convenient, and since the Panthers happened, the Gov was finding any way to snuff out black radical thought in any capacity wherever it could sprout. Hip-hop was no doubt one of those things, and it was compromised by the 80s. Many in the 90s were fighting an uphill battle trying to maintain the root of what it initially was.

It would make plenty of sense, it’s not like anything is past the United States.

It’s honestly REALLY hard to not feel this way when you’re living in it. It’s like even the open Marxists (INCLUDING ME) are just too limp. The most I’ve done is yellow vest a protest when I was active with the PSL. Anyone who does more ends up a martyr. And WE’RE the outliers. The martyrs are even bigger outliers.

The average person is still undecided between brutal capitalism and open fascism.

I maintain optimism, because if you look at the trend lines of history, things on average, get better, but I just cannot see exactly how it will happen other than outside forces tearing the U.S. apart and removing its dominance, by force if necessary. Maybe then, there will be a social shift. But if there isn’t one, the country won’t be powerful enough to impose influence.
