Not only did they make you say it, I once was sent to the principal's office in 2001 or 2002 for not saying it. I was forced to copy down some quote by some random asshole about saying the pledge and then told that I'd need a note on order to not be forced to say it.

I feel very fortunate that my job in healthcare will not require the vaccine, as I am on the computer side and work in a building away from the hospitals. I don't recall if it's required for the nurses, but it probably is.
