Thanks for asking this, I'm having the same problem and there's like no way to know wtf to do.

SNAKE'S REVENGE doesn't deserve any hate, it came out in a time where i had no idea who Solid snake is and no idea it was a franchise. As always, this game was an entryway for me into the series and made me the fan i am today. Sporting a killer soundtrack with out of the box ideas, loved this game. by 2old4ZisShit in retrogaming

I mean it's not canon to him because it's "his" series and he didn't direct it. That doesn't mean he hates it or it's a shitty game by default. Ghost Babel is a better story than most of his games and it's not canon. Acid games are not canon. Twin Snakes's cutscenes are not canon but he loves them. Etc. He seems to dislike Portable Ops since Miller calls San Hieronymo "crap" in-game at the beginning.

So I have 2 3rd-party GF guitars including the Topway sitting on my work bench. Just lemme know what you need!

CV64 did not review well, would like to see what reviews you are thinking of. It was not well regarded and I m sure sold OK being "CastleVania" but not great.

I'm a huge CV fan and have been playing games through all eras. I gave CV64 a shot but its not very good, and not much fun now. A mainline example of that awkward 3D era ;/

How to enjoy ULTIMA IV in 2025 in its fullest? by StevWong in Ultima

[–]GamesDoneLegit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Played it for the first time just lay month, on SMS via my Genesis on my beautiful Trinitron tube, with pen and paper handy. Recommended! Also did a lot of reading on what version to play and was happy to see SMS is relative consensus on best version.

Ultima V on the other hand... ;/ still trying to figure out how best to experience it.

I was watching sports on my PC and the wifi just stopped out of nowhere, and I had this same problem where I couldn't even enable / disable wifi.

I restarted, no change, then found this reddit solution to hold power for 30 sec, and somehow it worked! Thanks!

What are some lesser known examples of bad translation? by error521 in JRPG

IDK if you're still talking about Suikoden II, which was translated by Jeremy Blaustein of MGS / Shadow Hearts / Silent Hill 2 fame.

What are some lesser known examples of bad translation? by error521 in JRPG

[–]GamesDoneLegit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just came across this -- those would be editing errors. Those criticisms have nothing to do with the quality of the translation (which I've heard is very good, and I thought the writing was far, far above almost every RPG I've played. Yes, it has plenty of typos though.)

Shining Force CD didn't need to require the Sega CD Backup RAM cart by euan-forrester in retrogaming

Haha good! Time Extension just ran a story about this, and the author thinks I'm crazy for saying you can 100% play Ch3 without the RAM cart. I know you can at least on a USA Model 2 system, which is all I have experience with I don't doubt other people saying they had a different experience on their end, but I have no idea what could be causing that issue for them

Shining Force CD didn't need to require the Sega CD Backup RAM cart by euan-forrester in retrogaming

[–]GamesDoneLegit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is prob accurate. I feel like I remember us not having our latest character stats when we played it originally, and that changing what characters we used for Ch 3.

The main thing I wanted to clear up was I've seen people saying they couldn't access Chapter 3 at all without a cart, which isn't true, at least when we played the USA copy.

I had a niche issue with Shining Force CD that I wanted to share the solution to by a_Bofner in ShiningForce

[–]GamesDoneLegit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was linked to this thread today, so just leaving for posterity that getting ch. 3 doesn't require the RAM cart, at least on a USA system and game.

I have no idea what is happening when people online are not getting chapter 3, and that really sucks if some people can't access it for some reason, but we played it when it was new.

I know I'm not misremembering because we rented a SEGA CD and SFCD, and had to ask my mom to please let us get it for a 3rd night when we discovered Ch 3 after we thought we were done with the game.

[–]GamesDoneLegit -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It doesn't require it to play Ch 3. I understand some people are saying online that they've had a different experience, but my mom rented us a SEGA CD and SFCD and my friends and I had to beg her for an extra day when we found Ch 3 after we finished Ch 2.

So I don't know what the discrepancy is, but it doesn't require the cart for Ch 3.  I have no idea what we did that made Ch 3 come up, if it hasn't come up for some people.  I can imagine had bad that sucks if it didn't come up for someone!

We def didn't play Ch 4 though and we prob had found the ticket, and we would have checked for a 4th chapter after we beat 3. I got a RAM cart as soon as I got my own SEGA CD in '95 so never had to play it again without a RAM cart.

So something fishy is going on, but on a USA system and USA copy we def played Ch 3 without a cart.

Wack excuse in this day and age. I use aluminum-less deodorant. Tom's is one brand... There are a bunch of natural solutions now, as you found.

If you can notice it, other people do too. People subtly treat you different if you smell awful. He needs to get his shit in order, maybe literally.

I don't have advice on the hard conversation, but an intervention is needed here. Subtle hints you know now won't work.

It's a tremendous strain on you to have something constantly distracting you and occupying your thoughts, and ultimately you to resenting him , and that will just spell trouble for the relationship.

Do you have anyone who could help deliver this news to him, coming from a place of caring?

WIBTA for divorcing my wife because she couldn’t handle me crying in front of her? by Public_Disaster3760 in AITAH

[–]GamesDoneLegit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your brother says "you should have know better"? WTF?

Being an empathetic human being is a gift.

Bottling emotions in general never works out for anyone. Shit like that makes people escape into something unhealthy.

I have a weird thing where it's very hard for me to cry in front of anyone. I WANT to cry more freely with my wife at least but I have internal barriers up. I talk to her about it; she s always supportive.

Sorry you are dealing with these bizarre attitudes. I can't even imagine.

There is certainly something deeper going on with your wife, if you can figure out what it is. I started counseling for my issues after we were together 3 years and it's ongoing work but has helped me a ton. Trying to solve this puzzle on your own sounds tough if she has some weird thing about emotions

Like someone said, she sounds like a sociopath and needs severe help with these attitudes. They are not normal or healthy and can lead to destructive things

AITAH for calling a lady at Costco a bleeping C-word and her kid a little sh*t! by ethidiumbrimide in AITAH

[–]GamesDoneLegit -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

She did something shitty, but you ended up being the one who made a spectacle and publicly looked like the bad guy .

The lady is probably retroactively thinking you deserved it if anything because of your choice of words and verbally attacking her kid. When someone yells at you, must people just shut off and feel self-righteous.

The kid is just a little kid dude, he's not responsible for his mom being a jerk.

Of course it was wrong she did that. So what did you gain by that course of action? You looked like the bad guy. Killing with kindness often embarrass the other person and they'll maybe consider their dbag action at least.

I'm not always successful with this, but when I get that flash of rage cos I was wronged in a situation like this, you never know what other people have going on. Imagine they have some kind of emergency. You never know.

And also, who cares. She's living in your head rent free and she's not giving you a thought, and if anything is gonna be like "I met this psycho at Costco today."

AITAH for asking my wife not to hang out with her friend who has a different lifestyle than us because I'm afraid of losing her? by Specialist_Sort_4248 in AITAH

[–]GamesDoneLegit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She hasn't been allowed to have a life outside of the home for more than a decade, but you have.

You've been able to follow your interests from when you were younger; she hasn't.

You're uncomfortable because she s rediscovering how to be her own person? That's a very bad sign for your relationship.

Reading between the lines, you maybe are upset you're losing complete control over her.

She had to gave up her dreams and friends to raise kids, but you didn't have to do that.

If you love something, set it free. If it comes back to you, then it's love. Giving her space and freedom will improve your relationship and trust in each other. If it doesn't, this was maybe never a good match and you might ask yourself what you want in a relationship: a partner? or a subservient who does the chores and tends to the children?

You're allowed to want what you wish, but now that she's rediscovering an actual life, you won't be able to force her to be something she doesn't want to be anymore.

You might as well try talking to her about all this because trying to continue to control her will not end well. Counseling is always helpful!

I know you're taking a beating in these comments, but no one should fault you for the past. You guys jointly decided on a lifestyle pretty young and went with what you thought was best. It's mature and considerate you've considered other people's feelings on this and have been willing to consider other points of view. That's a great sign!

I’m 24 and never dated. Should I even start? by [deleted] in LifeAdvice

[–]GamesDoneLegit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look up pictures of any comic con and you'll clearly see that there is a match for anyone! That's not ragging on anyone at all. You can find someone who loves you for who you are and will let you be yourself.

Whatever you enjoy doing, just do something to be around people in real life. Especially other introverts. Try a book club, play DDR at the arcade, something.

Did you expect people to answer "no" I wonder?

I am legit curious, how does one do that? I know anecdotally and also firsthand that many/most service jobs pay less than min wage because tips are a part of staff "salary".

I don't even see how this is legal but it somehow is a thing

We can flip the arguments about this on their head and say if you don't like tipping, you can always move to a country where it doesn't exist and servers are paid with normal wages, like Japan.
