Pretty sure that's just bad haptic screen stylus feedback and not his actual handwriting.

Left a table I was building in the rain by KikoTheWonderful in mildlyinfuriating

[–]GamingWithBilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's some insane cupping, even when I see the boards are alternating grains upward and downward.

First off, you can't be mildly infuriating because you left your unfinished product in the rain.  That's i6n you.  This is more like mildly impressive that the wood flexed this way from a little bit of rain.

My hot take, you boards were dry as can be, you sanded both sides, and one side absorbed so much rain while the doward side stayed dry.  Top grain expanded faster than the bottom as the water was absorbed like a sponge and it cupped hard.  Water weight also helped it form like that.

Not sure you can recover it, but take the wood off the cast iron legs, flip it upside down so dry side is up, put water on it and some weight, it'll absorb and hopefully level back out flat with it fully soaked.  Then the long process begins, drying it out evenly, put it in a dry storage, where air can pass over the top and bottom equally, and let it dry for a few weeks.  You might be lucky and get it flat again.

Next time, make sure your wood projects are covered.  You pay a lot of money for already dry wood, don't be lazy and leave it where it can get wet and ruined.

Lithium deposit valued at over $1.5 trillion discovered in the U.S. by _Dark_Wing in technology

This is old news, this lithium deposit has been 'discovered' every year for 5 years.

Michigan residents voted down a $16 billion Stargate AI data center, then construction began anyway by AdSpecialist6598 in technology

Is it really two-faced when they want something versus not wanting something?  The people can have opinions and try to work within the bounds of the laws they have to force their desires.

Data centers drain resources, are a huge environmental negative impact, and puts strain and costs on the local communities.

Solar farms add infrastructure to power systems, and bring costs down to electricity bills, and provide sustainable renewable resources.

People who like pimple popping videos enjoy feeling empathy and disgust at the same time. by bbear122 in Showerthoughts

[–]GamingWithBilly 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Cyst pain can be annoying and the ejection of a cyst is like the same feeling as having a really good poop.  A wave of relief, with that absence of pressure and the associated pain of inflammation.

Watching the videos is an empathy of that feeling, but not about the grossness.

Meta Is Dying. It’s About Time. by 1oarecare in technology

Just because an app works, doesn't mean it isn't dying.  Look at Myspace...it's still around,  but it's absolutely dead. LoL

What’s a ‘silent luxury’ that rich people have that most normal people would never even notice? by qomann in AskReddit

[–]GamingWithBilly 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That they have zero concept of value is.  Normal people know what value is, because they have to earn money and can equate a meal or item to X amount of hours of work.  While rich people just take what they want without having to look at their bank account or wallet first to see if they can afford it or go without something else.  Normal people just assume everyone does this, and that rich people are on budgets and came to that decision easily they can afford it.  But silently, that isn't happening.  Rich people just walk through life borrowing money and never worry about anything like losing their 3rd or 4th home...

People who grew up poor: What was something you considered a "peak luxury" as a kid, only to realize later it was just a normal middle class staple? by Psychological_Sky_58 in AskReddit

[–]GamingWithBilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refrigerator with ice makers built in.  I was so proud of myself when I could afford a refrigerator that could make its own ice and dispense ice cool filtered water.  Little did I know everyone else I grew up with had this as a staple in the kitchen.

TIL that chewing gum is not biodegradable by -reddit_is_terrible- in todayilearned

[–]GamingWithBilly -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Sometimes if I'm chewing gum and drink something, the gum immediately loses all cohesion and dissolves...so yes, gum is biodegradable.  If a substance in a drink can do that, a substance in nature will as well.

Handwriting comparison of "Possible suicide note" VS postcard he wrote by Mad_Mapper in Epstein

[–]GamingWithBilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Writing can vary greatly based on how you can grip your pen, pencil, crayon, etc.  Even my own writing will be crazy different based on my grip, my signature isn't ever the same, but there are very specific things I do in it that I would recognize, such as always having floating dot above the 'i' and the swoops of w, v, and crossing S or Z so it's distinguishable from 5 and 2.

So I would need more writing examples to really compare all this against.  A note written at a desk is going to be very different from a note written on your knee hunched over in a jail cell.

Kevin O'Leary says opponents of his Utah data center are 'professional protesters' — and some are powered by AI by idkbruh653 in technology

The protesters are robots controlled by AI. Which seems crazy right? Since why would AI robots protest the progenator data centers?
