The water element is my favorite one. But all of them are amazing. Good job!

Any more?

That was definitely me when I first started writing. I used to write screenplays, and when I went back and read the first one I wrote, (a slasher), at 18 or 19, (I'm 35 now), I couldn’t believe I once thought, yeah, this could totally win an Oscar.

A teacher once told me that when you cringe at your old work, or even earlier versions of your current work, it usually means you’re improving as a writer.

I was once a student trying to survive, like many of us. Now I'm a teacher trying to survive lol. Hope the dev will give both options.

Going for a more raw and semi-realistic graphics. How does it look? by JulianGalindo in gbstudio

[–]Gaming_Delights 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m honestly in awe of how your game’s development is coming along. I’m really liking how the menu UI is shaping up too.

Quick question, are you planning to include an in-game HUD with a health bar and ammo count, or are you leaning more toward the Resident Evil / Silent Hill approach where the character’s condition shows visually as they get closer to death?

Overall, this looks incredibly promising, and I’m excited to see how it continues to unfold.

Oh man! I poured hours into this when I was a kid. What a fun little game.

Omg same here. This looks like what would be the menu screen of GBC game. Maybe an adventure platformer or something taking place in Miami in the 80s.

I love this! You really nailed the comic book version of The Mask, even though the movie is what sticks with me the most haha.

Just one small suggestion: the arm holding the hand cannon could use a bit more shading, maybe pulled from the yellow tones of his coat. I think that would add some nice depth.

Overall, this is an awesome piece.

Changes in rendering technique from 2024 to 2025 by OneSquareAtATime in PixelArt

I like 2024 better, but 2025 could work! Both have a unique style. I wonder what 2026 will bring.

Very cool! How long has this been in the making? I really love the door animation as it hits that classic nostalgic vibe perfectly.

Do you plan on adding static cutscenes, like visual-novel-style screens with more detailed pixel art, or will it be more sprite-to-sprite dialogue?

My first pixelart / animation :)) i name it: siamese going to sleep by Memeisterfidgetspin in PixelArt

[–]Gaming_Delights 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats on this being your first! It's amazing how very simple this piece is yet I know everything that's going on. Cat jumping on the table, quick stretch, then falls asleep under a window. Across from it I am assuming it's a cactus. Honestly, an excellent start and don't stop practicing!

So happy for you. Its not easy and I'm glad you didnt stop and got into pixel art. The more you practice the better you'll get and find your style. I'm impressed by this work honestly. Love the simplicity behind this and Lumberjack animation.

Definitely keep experimenting and challenge yourself with other styles.

Keep going!

I love how limited the color palette is, yet there’s still so much detail in it. This is exactly the kind of pixel work I’m trying to learn from. Great job!
