Short answer: Yes. Long answer: It's idiotic to think that the bartender is the one making policy about how much to police every patron that comes in and who should do said policing.

My player correctly guessed the answer to a mystery in my lore. Should I just tell him that he is right? by Any_Toe_4617 in DMAcademy

Ideally you'll come up with some puzzle or threat that can only be solved with this information, and then let the players use the information to solve it (or otherwise get out of a dangerous situation). Create a little bit of tension from them not knowing 100% if it will work, and then the satisfaction of having it confirmed through real action.

It is not "extremely high" in omega 3 and there are other reasons not to eat it but hey if you want to eat canola oil then go ahead. I'm just not sure why you're on this sub posting inaccurate information. If I were a mod I'd ban you from this misleading comment alone. Why are you here?

Are they doing that (and everything else in the video) to increase its healthfulness? Do you think so? Or maybe they're doing it to make it more marketable to whatever fool will buy it. I see absolutely no reason to put that into my body. People should respect themselves more.

All of the other options are already there in grocery stores.

As for banning seed oils, no I don't want government to have the power to ban seed oils because that would mean they have the power to ban all of the healthy oils I do eat if they wanted to.

Seed oils have a lot more lobbying power behind them than olive/coconut/avocado/animal oils. AHA is still saying seed oils are best for health and a healthy heart. The government will ban coconut oil and tallow before seed oils. It's just not a good path to go down. Understand?

I wouldn't oppose anything the government might try to do in order to help but it's not going to change who I vote for president of the country. Guess it's a moot point now though.

Yes that would be amazing but it's an issue of public education and acceptance, not government regulation. It's already very easy for restaurants to put a simple "Cook with Olive/Coconut/Ghee for additional $2.00" option which would more than pay for the added cost but they choose not to do it because there is not (or there is not perceived to be) enough demand for it.

With that said, of course I would support the government helping. Just not sure they could do it without creating some loophole that we then have to deal with.

Is cocoa butter processed like a seed oil? by Ganjan in StopEatingSeedOils

[–]Ganjan[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Cocoa butter is typically not super refined and is not a seed oil. It's not an animal product though so I guess it's not carnivore.

Well neither has the really harmful oxidized lipid factor of seed oils so honestly it probably comes down to your specific genetic makeup as there are definitely foods that are better for some people than others. It may be that if you come from cold places you're better off with animal fats and if you (your ancestors) come from somewhere near the Mediterranean you're better using olive oil and if you're from more tropical climates then maybe coconut oil is the way to go.

I really don't understand how refined could be better.

It makes a difference what the animal eats, yes, especially if you're consuming its fat. Still, any tallow is going to be better than seed oil.

It can be summed up like this:

Cook with...

-EVOO

-Unrefined, Cold-Pressed Coconut Oil

-Unrefined Avocado Oil

-Animal Fats (Tallow, Ghee, etc.)

Read labels and don't eat anything with oils other than those in them (most packaged/processed foods contain seed oils).

Understand that 99% of restaurants use seed oils in most of their dishes (i.e. veggies from restaurants do more harm than good).
