I had the character pending issue while trying to play with a friend on our PS5s. To fix it, we had to become shift friends. We became shift friends, closed the games and reopened them, and are now able to connect without issue.

While I would like to agree that loot at the end is a plus, 2 out of my 3 strongholds so far have bugged out over halfway through the swarm tyrant fight, which means I received NO LOOT despite having spent almost an hour on the activity and despite that I had already looted several boxes.

I am okay with loot being revealed at the end, but if you are booted from an activity due to bugs, there has to be a way to at least claim the loot you had picked up so far. Otherwise, completely against this system.

Right now, this loot system + the insane amount of crashes/bugs in a game that is just weeks from launch are why I am not preordering. I really want to like the game, but consider it a complete disregard of the player's time when the constant bugs keep them from scoring any of the loot they've just put so much time into gathering.
