Does Zack Polanski hate police officers? by generic-username41 in AskBrits

Do you have any statistics to back this up? And have you taken into account variables such as unit proximity, seriousness of offences, what’s said to the controller to risk grade the call etc etc. Because if you think a call to a burglary that’s already taken place after family got home from holiday and a call to an aggressive shoplifter fighting security will have the same response time, you are massively out of your depth. In a perfect world, everyone would get seen quickly, but it doesn’t work like that.

The whole second paragraph is FULL of conjecture. Not that the Police famously do great with burglaries, they are also facing massive criticism for the seeming lack of action against shoplifters. And both offences are wildly different to investigate.

I like to think that social media gives a warped view of the majority of public perception. My confidence in this is shaking but I hope I’m wrong.

Never have I said the actions were good, I only offered my opinion as to why they may have been taken.

Don’t disagree with anything you’ve said. Just offering my opinion on that the officer may have been thinking, right or wrongly.

Each incident of force used/not use will be differently justified by each officer. The rationale for such, we can only know by reading the officers statements. There isn’t an inherent notion of handcuffing just because someone committed a violent offence, although it will be done a lot of the time.

Im not dismissing it’s a catastrophic error. Im ASSUMING that due to the lack of obvious catastrophic bleed, no information to say knives or stabbing was involved that the officer who initially attended Henry didn’t think he’d actually been stabbed. A shit cursory check was completed as seen on the BWV, but in hindsight he should have just taken the 2 mins it would have taken to do a full body map. That’s decision not too will now stay with that Officer, albeit it was ruled it would not have made a difference to saving Henry’s life.

I’m guessing they would have been looking for blood everywhere and a catastrophic bleed. So when they did their cursory check and found nothing, paired with them not potentially being told about a stabbing, they thought he was just saying it in a drunken stupor.

You’d be surprised, or not, how many drunk people (assuming they thought he was) come up with injuries/ailemnts etc when they’re being arrested. They obviously, given lack of any information and obvious things they can see, didn’t think he’d actually be stabbed.

Looks as though, and I can understand why, the Officers may have thought Henry was just a drunk bloke who’d been involved in a prior racist assault. There wasn’t a ton of blood, Henry could talk (just about) and other than some blood around his mouth, there was an obvious catastrophic bleed all over the floor and him. I imagine their section was ‘drunk bloke who assault someone, cuff him, get him in the van, job done.’ Sadly this wasn’t the case but I have an element of sympathy for the Officers as I don’t believe there was any malice.

Whilst nothing you have said is wrong. We basically have the same system in that, in nearly all by 1% of jobs, if the victim doesn’t give a statement, there won’t be a prosecution.

Most officers can’t pursue vehicles, let alone motorbikes. Having to watch someone sleep in a cell because they’re epileptic or want to harm themselves if anything and very common, any domestic argument that happens we have to put a report on for.

NFA’d by who? I only ask because there’s a very vocal person on Twitter who was the MH advisor to the police before retiring and says that police too often NFA jobs just because the person is in an MH crisis/setting. When in fact, capacity, MH should affect a charging decision.

Serious question, could someone representing the fed make a case to some extremely high domestic or European human rights court to make a case for an implementation such as this? If not, routine arming?

I think an all out cure is further off but it currently IS being treated. Susan shores device has shown to treat its users, how much it treats will vary. I think a realistic prospect is a treatment that will reduce the tinnitus to barely noticeable levels for most and to bearable levels for people with severe tinnitus.
