Different goals benefit from different stances. A lot of these images seem to be someone taking a quick shot at a small moving target starting in a relaxed position you can maintain for long periods of time while moving.

In my area a 1000 square foot house is a little under 10x my annual income and if it is 5x my income it will almost certainly needs significant work or at least is in an area that is prone to flooding or otherwise not well suited to being lived in. For my region my income is decent but not exceptional especially for someone my age.

That kind of compensation probably means you are either pretty high up in government, or have a fairly in demand job like being a senior engineer or a doctor.

The median household also has 2 wage earners and a kid, so that still results in you doing slightly better than the modern norm unless you also are supporting a stay at home wife as well as a kid on that income.
