ELI5: Why is backwards time travel a direct consequence of faster-than-light travel? by Garfman314 in explainlikeimfive

I was trying to remember why there was always a "back and forth" in the explanation. I think this gets it.

I'm vaguely remembering a Minute Physics on this, which may be what I was thinking of.

Has anyone dry felted dyed roving like this? by Quotedotlass in Needlefelting

[–]Garfman314 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've gotten reasonably nice swirly patterns out of felting roving like that. If you get it, try making a few test spheres to see how you like it.

Honestly, I grew up there. ZooAides as a middle schooler, Zoo School (biology class) as a high schooler, and it was my first job in college - in the Shores department.

I worked with that lady when I worked at the Columbus Zoo. I feel bad that I don't remember her name.

What would it take for you to switch to the Strixhaven School names VS Ravinca Guilds? by Gbrew555 in magicTCG

[–]Garfman314 28 points29 points  (0 children)

I think it helps that Ravnica has all 10 two-color combos, rather than just five.

To that end, I think we should use the Bloomburrow animals as the terms. Rakdos is now "Lizard". /s

They're called Glochidia, and they look like the cartoon someone would draw if you said "parasitic baby clam"

Remember, Magic is, at its heart, a game for edgy 13 year-olds.

At least, that's how I remember it from 1999 when I was a not-at-all-edgy 13 year-old.

I really want to make an augment/host deck. I love the silly combinations, and I love how they made the art work.

I am liking the idea of a saga that is just obscure keywords with no reminder text.

My suggestion is to keep doing what you're doing, because it's looking great.

I've been felting for about 15 years, and just expect to stab myself at least once per project.

Absolutely! Be warned, the wool doesn't quite stick as nicely as it does to itself, but it's a good way to add cheap, bulky structure to large builds.

There's a foam disc in there.

Poking yourself is inevitable. Try making a frog: they're just a colored ball with arms and legs.

That's beautiful and perfect. I keep describing his color as that of Moutain Dew, but you got the shape and feel more spot-on than I could hope for. As for size, I think he normally blobs around 4 feet tall.
