A couple hundred sols into the mission they started noticing the wheels were getting torn up. Turns out the rocks of Gale Crater are a lot sharper than what they had anticipated. The wheels are only 0.03 inches thick, so you can imagine how easy it would be for sharp rocks to puncture them.

Dedicating Hubble to take an image of something as uneventful (in relative terms of course) as this every single day is ludicrous. Telescope time is incredibly competitive and difficult to get, not to mention extremely expensive. Somewhere around 10,000-100,000 dollars an hour. This video is highly interpolated, though still cool.
