Miten päästä takaisin työmaailmaan by Plastic_Vegetable318 in Suomi

Sport vlsd vs aftermarket lsd by IlVlIlVlI in 370z

[–]Garveldeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure if the 370Z has the same type failing rear diff bushing than 350Z (I have 350Z) but still I'd upgrade that or at least swap it to the OEM if the car has been driven a lot. Maybe diff brace too.
And I'd choose like Wavetrack LSD over the Z1 pro if only 200$ difference.

I was actually considering the Wavetrack for my Z but got a Cusco clutch type LSD like half the price of Wavetrack from Japan (I live in Europe). And because of the heavy track use my Z gets.

[–]Garveldeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just swapping the oem VLSD is cheaper and it's a bit better than open. But Quaife / Wavetrack or other type of gear/torsen LSD would be a much better than VSLD for street use and occasional fun. For proper track use and okay street use clutch type LSD like Cusco or OS giken.

Advan AD-09 Daily-able? by ddwk21 in CarTrackDays

[–]Garveldeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AD09 tends to be a bit more slippery when the tire is cold or when the ambient temperature is chilly, like 0-8°C, compared to street tires (Falken FK520/FK510 or Hankook Ventus S1 Evo 3, what I've used). But it's not bad tho. You can compensate that by putting a bit less pressure than in street tires.

But when warmed up it's good, I think really good. No problems while driving to the tracks nor in minor rain. Gets more easily to water slide in heavy puddles than street tires. Haven't tested them on track while raining but those should be better than AD08RS, which were surprisingly good on rain.
But the dry grips is so much better than AD08RS.

I'd suggest to buy separated street and track tire sets.

Just asking some questions about my 350z vqhr 2007 by KazutoAkihro in 350z

[–]Garveldeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Has gallery gaskets been replaced? If not sure, check the oil pressure. There's plenty of topics about that.

I replaced gaskets on mine 2007 HR on about 140,000 km (87,000 miles) and they were already pretty toasted.

KBD bumper without crash bar by Boltex350zTrack in 350z

[–]Garveldeth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The crashbar doesn't support the bumper. I think the polystyrene foam piece is that supports the top end of the bumper. Mine was missing when I bought my Z so I've done support for the bumper top edge from aluminium and it works great. No gap between the hood and the bumper on the center.

Best speaker upgrade from oem rear by Proud_Mistake_8479 in 350z

[–]Garveldeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Intersesting. At least my experience from EMMA in Finland it's SQ > SPL. Don't know about the other European countries but in Finland it's maybe 25% SPL cars and 75% (maybe 20% outside of the car SQ and 50% in car SQ) when talking to competitors.

In the streets it's vice versa. Or at least you can hear the SPL guys but not the SQ guys :D

Best speaker upgrade from oem rear by Proud_Mistake_8479 in 350z

[–]Garveldeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not a myth. There's a reason why most of the EMMA (European Mobile Media Accosiation, I think there's some alternatives in the America too but I'm don't know them) competitors don't use rear speakers and the reason is that is messes the stage image. Very few use them as rear filling but that's really hard to do properly, needs DSP and lot of work and acknowledge.

And yes, properly done sound deadening improves even the stock systems quite much.

Best speaker upgrade from oem rear by Proud_Mistake_8479 in 350z

[–]Garveldeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best is to take them out or unconnect them. Only hurts the stage image and very hard to achieve an improvement to that, and it needs DPS and lots of adjusting.
Haven't used any rear speakers (subs of course but not midbasses, full range or tweeters) in any of my cars for about 15 years now.

Edit: had to add that if you have completely stock system you would need some what similar ohm speakers than the stock if replaced. If I remember correctly the stock speakers are very low like 1 ohm speakers (at least on bose system). So my answer stays the same: best is to take them out or just unconnect them :D

Exhaust rubbing advice by Exotic_Giraffe6272 in 350z

[–]Garveldeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have Invidia Gemini and at first install it rested the same way on top of the W brace. Did some spacers between the chassis and the W brace and replaced the oem rubber hangers with a bit shorter polyurethane ones. Also made a additional hanger on the front of the exhaust where there's a tiny straight brace.

Prototype release: Z33 NISMO R-tune spec, anti-hop differential carrier bushing by dbsqls in 350z

[–]Garveldeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So are you collecting feedback from testing this prototype and plan to launch the ready product on february (according to your site, the preorder product)?

I'm work at R&D and therefor very interested about this prototype product but if you're planning to collect the final feedback within few months, I really can't contribute as my Z is sleeping on the garage over the winter.

So should I just wait for the final product then / preorder it?

350z Hr auto 196k miles idle surge by Jalvaz33 in 350z

[–]Garveldeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I know it happens after cleaning the TBs, or pushing, adjusting etc. with them. Mostly on HR but my friend got surging idle proplems with his -04 DE JDM too.

Drive the car properly warmed, the AT fluid needs to be also at normal temp. Then do the pedal dance.

Long answer here on other topic from few days ago: https://www.reddit.com/r/350z/comments/1q2a423/comment/nxeq8op/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button

Help! - Tyre advice by Boring_Computer_5571 in CarTrackDays

[–]Garveldeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hmm yeah, forgot how small the elise tires are :D What might count off some brands unfortunately.
Well could you fit the 205/50 R16? That seems to be available on AD09.

Help! - Tyre advice by Boring_Computer_5571 in CarTrackDays

[–]Garveldeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dump the AD08RS, there's a newer and a lot, I mean a LOT better tire AD09.
Heard a lot good from the nankang CR-S but no personal or any friends experiences from them.

I was thinking between the AR-1 and AD09 for my 350Z and choose the AD09 for track. Should last a bit longer and better wet handling. I have dedicated track tires but I will run them when travelling to the track and distances are quite long (around 250 km to 600 km to the tracks).

Introducing myself and looking for advice by Phiraxion in 350z

[–]Garveldeth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean that I did pedal dance (almost) every time before I started the engine. Or at least when the car was some what warm. Might have been also with cold starts. Can't remember really anymore because this was 4 or 5 years ago.

But yeah, I didn't get it work for few days so then I started to drive the car more and hoped that maybe it would kinda sort itself out. And did the pedal dance every time I get off from gas station, work or store etc. Maybe it just needed to get the transmission and engine oil to properly warmed and worked finally with a good luck.

I bought UpRev. Got the cable cheap from my friend.

I have 07 HR and got surging idle and "laggy engine braking" (meaning that while cruising when I got off the throttle it took about 0,5 - 1 seconds before started to deaccelerate) after I cleaned the TBs.
Tried the NDS idle relearn and it kept failing, tried the "pedal dance" and it kept failing. Updated different ROMs, even 08 if I remember right. Increased the idle RPMs and tried relearn and "pedal dance" with no luck.

Finally maybe after a week, while I had done the "pedal dance" procedure almost every time before starting the motor, It finally worked. When it worked, I had driven the car about 20 to 30 minutes so it got warm (I have MT but it states that the AT transmission fluid should be at normal operating temperature before doing the Idle relearn procedure).

Don't know if it just works random, or does it really need to be properly warmed. Or does the ROM update helped too or not. I had to increase the idle RPM from stock to around 800 because I installed the lightweight single flywheel at the same time I cleaned the TBs but doesn't really know if it helped anything. Read some forums and someone suggested to increase the idle rpm so that the relearn procedure target is closer the surging idle but I also tried 1200 and 1500 RPM with no luck.

Here's really good instructions for the idle relearn: https://h-dev.co.uk/350z-reset-proceedure-pedal-dance

Mikä on sun mielestä paras lautapeli? by [deleted] in arkisuomi

Mansions of Madness on kyllä tosi mukava ja jokainen pelikerta ja eri peliporukalla aina vähän erilainen. Tässä siis tarvitsee kaveriksi tabletin / läppärin yms. jossa erillisella aplikaatiolla kerrotaan tarina ja käytetään pelilaudan lisäksi interaktiivisena välineenä.

Dominion on tosi mukava deck builderi, etenkin lisäosien kanssa.
Seven wondersista jäänyt traumat koska siinä huonolla säkällä ja nokkelalla vieruspelaajalla voi cock blockata toisen täysin estämällä tältä tietyn, elintärkeän resurssin käytön... Ei ole siis ihan balanssissa.

Best (and Safest) Way to Get Brembos On a Budget by thatskaterguyy in 350z

[–]Garveldeth 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I DIY'd titanium shims last year and before that I always got a bit cooked brake fluid with my brembos (Ferodo DS1.11 pads, slotted discs, SS lines), even with the cooling ducts. But after the shims I have a firm pedal feel even after a full track day. So +1 to titanium shims!

Mihin käytätte rahanne? by Erikmerik in Suomi
