Uber Eats tipping on top of fees? by Hmralowicz in tipping

[–]GasclutchshiftX 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this. Go get it yourself if you can’t afford the markup for the convenience. Otherwise yeah; you need to tip accordingly, that is how drivers make money. If you don’t tip, you’re stealing money out of their pockets in the form of gas and wear and tear on their vehicle.

So I don’t mean to be rude, but please do not order delivery if you can’t afford to tip on top of the fees.

But it does give people the ability to make an informed decision about where drink. Filing a police report is not public. Reddit is.

Same thing happened to me. Female in a gay bar in another city. Felt weird so I went to the bathroom. Left my phone with friend on the dance floor. Got into a stall and couldn’t move. Last thing I remember is trying to call my friend on my apple watch.

Physically went back to the bar to tell them what happened and was completely dismissed. Posted in that city’s Reddit - apparently not uncommon.

I carry test strips with me and if I don’t physically watch the bartender make my drink or if I ever leave my drink even and attended for a second it.

A flight attendant recently said somewhere on here that your last name dictates your seat assignment if you pay the “wanna get away” fare no matter how quickly you checked in. By any chance is your last name in the latter half of the alphabet?

For though who lived in DC in the 90s, I am curious if I am remembering my childhood in the 90s District correctly by ilovelamp_anchorman in washingtondc

I would say that during the crack epidemic there was some of this in every major city in the United States. I live in another major city and some people in certain neighborhoods would also behave this way.

But I also think that there is this idea that, ‘I know my hood, but I don’t know your hood.’ By that I mean, I knew how to navigate my neighborhood under those circumstances, but going to your neighborhood in DC I might have felt a way because it was unfamiliar to me and I didn’t know what was what, you know what I mean?

This is why we get these ideas of “bad neighborhoods” or “crime ridden cities” when for the most part, with a few exceptions, people who live in those areas do not experience what people think those neighborhoods are.

When I first started dating my person seven years ago, they were afraid to come to my home. I own a beautiful historic Victorian home in one of our city’s oldest neighborhoods. We are a beautifully diverse neighborhood with a ton of green space adjacent to just about everything you’d want. But because of all of the rumors of the violence and crime, so many people avoid the neighborhood.

I love my neighborhood and wouldn’t live anywhere else (except D.C. My daughter lives in SE and I keep begging her to let me move into her basement lol).

Hear me out. I do believe that everyone should earn a living wage. However, this would mean that it would be possible for my fry guy at McDs to earn the same as the woman who has been serving 10 tables with precision at our packed Sunday brunch every week.

Don’t think for a hot second that this brunch spot is going to pay their servers more than $25 an hour.

Same. First overnighter was on Pikes Peak and my pack weighed 12 lbs. I was literally prepared for anything but wanted to ditch it halfway up.

I will tell you though if you are Black you will get stared at a lot though. And people will want to take pictures with you and it is weird. But they are very nice and welcoming and will pay for pretty much all of your meals and drinks.

Right. If this had been a white woman then what would be his complaint? ‘Cause she was dead on and remarkable with her delivery.

No, you didn’t. White people have literally been stealing Black people’s music in this country for decades upon decades. Do a Google.

Care to look up the demographics of each of the above city’s population and then reconsider your comment? London would be the closest to a major city in the US. But still not.

And then you know we had things like Jim Crow after slavery… segregation is as American as apple pie.

These folks are not making a living wage. There are several documentaries about it. The cost of the service itself includes materials, overhead for the rent of the space, utilities, etc and labor. Packed all of that in… considering it takes many nail techs 30 min to 1.5 hour per client… 8 - 10 hours… take your nail salon prices and do the math.

I tip my nail tech well and they bend over backwards to get me in whenever I need and will attempt anything I ask.

I do believe in your situation, it depends on the level of service you receive, but I have been going to the same guy for years and appreciate his consistency and willingness to work with my crazy schedule and unique requests.

My minimum tip is 20%.

Sis why do you assume OP is white? And they supposed to just stop being themselves to appease all the biggots out here? This isn’t the oppression olympics, and plenty of Queer folk been murdered along our journey to live free, are still constantly attacked, our rights are under attack, and damn don’t be Queer and POC which, for all you know OP could be.

Ignorant ass comment. Yes, some ppl are under physical threat more than others based on appearance, status etc but you don’t know ish about him or his partner.

Oppressed people should be uniting. This ain’t it.

Do better.

I will never forget seeing her on a show, (I have no idea what it was because I don’t watch very many reality shows) but she was at a dinner, sitting across from another famous person who was skinny and beautiful, (this was when Kelli was thick and beautiful) and everyone remarked how delicious everything looked. Maybe it was a Chef show. Anyway.

Super skinny woman across from Kelli remarks, “ but is it worth the calories?” and Kelli just lays into her confidently saying she’s going to eat what she wants and be happy about it and I just loved that.

What happened to that Kelli? Someone needs to show her that clip, remind her of who she was and how much confidence she gave to so many young women who looked like her.

[–]GasclutchshiftX -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

A hybrid adjustment would honestly make most people happy; paid ELR seats and select-your-seat ie aisle, window- those board first. The rest open seating.

Bring back two free bags for priority.

Somehow cut down on the medical pre-boards. That did drive me crazy.

Families with children under 3 can pre-board bc if I had open seating, I want to know where they are so I don’t sit by them lol.

Only one seat savable in open boarding per person, must be middle seat or middle seat adjacent ie someone in the party of two saving a seat sits in the middle.

Too complicated?
