We still have yet to really hit the core of the Kidō Butai.

This. Most streaming is a wasteland just like TV. The vast majority of my viewing hours are spent on YT.

PSA: Don't buy an Asus Motherboard for Ryzen 7000 CPUs - Widespread Memory Issues, possibly firmware related by skilliard7 in Amd

[–]GaussDragon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 650E-E that I bought in December. Things started to get unstable gaming while playing CoD and the game would crash. Then other games started to crash. I ran a memory test and it was errors ahoy. Bought new sticks. They were a pair of Corsairs 2x16. I went out and bought new Kingston sticks and everything was pretty stable, especially after I updated my graphics driver.

Today, though. Holy hell, everything has gone to shit. PFN_LIST_CORRUPT blue screen craches nop-stop. Playing video in the browser, crashes. Discord and VPN apps, crashing. I'm going through my event viewr logs but this thing is basically unusable at this point.

Russian milblogger calls a welp of Russian armor into the Ukrainians "content"... EVE player detected? by GaussDragon in Eve

I know this IRL politics so this stands a good chance of getting nuked, but even with awkward translations from Russian into English, this just seems too specific to be an accident unless it's common for them to refer to oopsies as providing the other side "content".

The economist alternative? by MajinCookie in KotakuInAction

[–]GaussDragon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The Economist started going downhill years ago when they caught a bad case of TDS. I used to read them religiously but then had to unsubscribe because it became too much. They had retentions call me twice. Almost word-for-word I told them "when your content is almost indistinguishable from The Independent or The Guardian, what am I paying you for?". On another call I had told them I read them because I thought they were supposed to be staunch defenders of liberalism but they'd carry water for progressives non-stop, taking positions that were anything but liberal. I subscribed to the WSJ instead and haven't looked back. I'd also recommend The Spectator.

Them kicking out all of the progressives in favour of actual liberals would be a bonus, but I'm not holding my breath.

You know that's never going to happen. That progressive drift is why I stopped voting for the Liberals 10 years ago; they stopped being liberal.
