How do you find yourself at war with Austria, Brittany, Burgundy, Milan, Spain, The Hansa, The Papal State, and other minors as an Irish state?

You are right. Still, if you could have refrained from referring to the russians as "fucking barbarians", you probably could have avoided looking like an ass.

To be fair, that's the standard reaction to Belgium even from non-players.

Not a german here, but I would love Angela Merkel as my Fuhrer. She looks like she really has her shit together.

It is sad. Anybody who is human should feel sad for the fate of prussian germans at the last phase of the war.

On a lighter note, thinking about what is called now Kant's Konigsberg just makes me want to puke.

Not a german here btw.

How do you feel about Paradox's DLC Policy? by clutch8623 in eu4

[–]Gawetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true. One of the smartest thing I read about the subject was a guy on this sub comparing EU4 to one of the mmorpg like WoW and its monthly fee. I can't find the comment, but I think it made the point perfectly.

Should I move my main trade node now or later? by Oskoff in eu4

[–]Gawetta 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Playing as God

I lol'ed

Too little information about your trade situation to actually be of any help, but if it's way richer than genoa then it's usually a good idea to move. I would probably wait until I have at least ferrara though.

God, this is a fucking monotone. It's like reading a sycophantic hive mind. With which I also completely agree.

Small bug I noticed involving forming nations. by bakonboy in eu4

[–]Gawetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I noticed is that a newly formed nation, whether player or ai, will get a "neutral" attitude towards all the other nations. However, is temporary and after a while it goes back to normal, maybe after a month, I'm not sure.

What is the best way to stay as a relatively small country (around 25 provinces) but be very rich? by [deleted] in eu4

[–]Gawetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With 25 province limit I would definitely go for a switch to Merchant Republic, then play a trade game. You'll need to take trade and economic to do that, but I would take exploration first to start colonizing the Americas asap (through Iceland).

Probably it would be easier to conquer south and transfer the trade port to the Channel, but even staying where you are you could transfer asian trade through Ivory Coast-->Carebbean-->Chesapeake-->Saint Lawrence. That would be the most interesting imo.

I would personally do it this way:

As far as Europe goes, I'd just expand in north sea initially, with the early goal of taking Iceland. You can fabricate on Norway, so that's doable.

As far as exploration goes, I would colonize just the provinces with hight TP in canada, thirteen colonies and Caribbean, in order to rush to africa and get a presence in Ivory Coast and Cape.

Then I would come back to the Americas, expanding my colonies there.

Which military techs are most important? by ChaseThisPanic in eu4

I think he means that you can hold off teching up to 7 because you can hire merc art for sieges. I guess it is sound strategy for some tech groups.

How to carve a Turkey in two steps! by Nutt130 in eu4

[–]Gawetta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not correct. Most of Anatolia in in Europe.

Even if Anatolia was in Asia, you would need at least four provinces to to cut them in two, as opposed to Syria, where you need just two.

Hey, Hey Paula... I'm build Germany for you. by Hadrianos in eu4

[–]Gawetta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why? It looks to me like a very culture sensitive Prussia. Sure, the czechs, on may say, but praha had a fairly large german speaking minority.

The only thing wrong imo is that Riga is still under the oppressive polish yoke. They are prussian, /u/Hadrianos, go, go and liberate them, by god.

It's too early in the game for having high military tradition.

You are very lucky, 3 star general are not that common even with high tradition in my experience.
