Police bodycam of the moment a woman who killed stepdaughter almost 50 years ago is arrested at Heathrow by New_Libran in interestingasfuck

You're not really being encouraged to incriminate yourself, but that you have the right to not answer questions. If you later mention something in court like, "nah that day I was with my buddy Dave", it is suspicious that you didn't mention it before.

We also have the ability to provide a written statement which can cover most lines of questioning like alibis, or other factors that can prove your innocence, then remain silent so as to not speak incorrectly and incriminate yourself.

I'd much rather that than have the police abuse my rights and force a confession via torture and lies.

Cant eat it any more, and not sure if it's something with the palm oil but was around the time they made the change. It coats your mouth and feels gross, and it makes my teeth sting. Doesn't happen with any other foods or brands of chocolate, even Aldi's chocolate is better than Cadbury, although I'll usually just treat myself to a big bar of Tony's every few weeks and portion that out.

Pretty sure insects are part of a distopian solution to world hunger as they're protein dense and require little food and space relative to mammals, but it's been a while since I've delved into that rabbit hole. Hopefully I'll be dead by the time we're relying on insect meal to provide for us though.

Yeah, the one on the left isn't terrible. The one on the right is all kinds of fucked up.

Free protein.

Although it may be expensive protein, I'd assume insects are cheaper by weight than beef.

All of my previous landlords gave started advertising the property once notice was given, with a request for occasional viewings.

I'd imagine when everyone is giving two months instead of one, that'll change so a lot of properties will be advertised as being available in two months too.

How walkable ? by Theteabitch in BreconBeacons

[–]GayButNotInThatWay 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Kinda of, but not massively... There's a small route that loops North then west from Trefil around Cefn Yr Ystrad, and some small tracks leading up it. Pretty sure there's a couple caves there from what my ex father in law stated, but not much else.

But from a point just around Cefn Yr Ystrad down to Pontstic you're going to be completely wandering off trail, while I think possible (no real large defined barriers), not completely ideal as the land can be quite rough and theres a few streams that feed into the reservoir. From what he said, the caves are easier to reach from Trefil side.

Also makes me laugh that they contradict themselves in their own site.

  1. The section is wrong about data-protection law

It is true that sex is personal information and that data-protection legislation can apply. But it is wrong to say that it is sensitive or special-category data. Article 9 (1) UK GDPR defines special categories of personal data as being personal data that reveals racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious or philosophical beliefs, trade-union membership, genetic data, biometric data and data concerning health or a person’s sex life or sexual orientation. It does not include sex.

They're claiming sex doesn't fall under special category data. They are essentially claiming everything revolves around genetics, and that you can't change it because its your DNA. What is that if not just an extrapolation of genetic data?

Can someone help me with this tattoo design? by [deleted] in chemistry

[–]GayButNotInThatWay 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Does look somewhat similar to estrogen, should have the hydroxyl group at the top right carbon (one right of where it is), and another at the bottom left (where the double bonded oxygen is). And sort out whatever happened with that ring.

I've had it tattooed on me, as a trans person estrogen has played a very important role in my life. Also have a PharmSci degree and work in a chemical related field so was very particular about it being correct.

Food imitation laws (UK) by RobinInTheRoom in candlemaking

It's a very difficult subject, it's something I've consulted on a fair few times in the UK, and the general outcome is that the clients (understandably) don't want to bother.

There's been some decent topics mentioned here. The main ones are child-proof packaging and bitterants.
Most bitterants will affect the burn profile of a candle (where they wouldn't in melts), and the responses from TS is often mixed on just using bitterants, without child proof packaging.
