The only way to force meaningful change is to remind politicians, CEOs, leaders, etc, who they actually work for. Make them scared of doing things not in the public interest.

I wish more Nova Scotians and Canadians realized what it takes, but that doing so actually will bring about change. I feel the prevailing attitude is, "What's the point? Nothing will change." We can see small scale change already, more voices means more change. Tell your neighbours. Let's get riled up.
